ok @Ger7 asked about my pricing after going back to Q, I didn't know at the time as they hadn't finalised moving back but I didn't get the deals I was on before, I actually got even better discounts for 18 months, they actually said that because of the inconvenience and because I proved detailed feedback of the issues that caused me to revert I got not just the normal discount they would give anyone at the moment but an additional one, the bill does suggest this isn't just them trying to appease me as every item on my bill has double discounts (and every single element of my package has discounts now), its nearly 60% less than was being paid and the old amount had discounts on it. So while the whole Glass situation turned out to be a massive inconvenience getting 18months of discounts at that level has been a positive

For some reason they don't seem to be able to right away, the person you speak to will ring you back 24-48 hours later to arrange it.
If you don't reset your Glass TV and pucks you will still be able to watch everything but the premium channels so you aren't totally out of luck

I went for the LG C1, it arrived fairly late today so I've not had a great chance to fiddle with the settings but once I managed to find the setting that puts it automatically into an eco mode even when not on the eco setting the image seemed really good with only minor tweaks, certainly much better than Glass as for starters it has pretty good viewing angles rather than washing out on one side when you go slightly off centre 🙂

That's good to hear (for you anyway, I suspect I'll get nothing but a refund as I never actually received it).
It also puts to bed the lies you get when you phone up at end of minimum term, that the system won't allow any more discounts. I usually laugh at posts that look like rants and then promise to move to Virgin Media, but Sky are now driving me to them.

@SimonW don't wa\nt to burst your bubble with the C1 but there is a large thread on the Q forum regarding a problem that LG have acknowledged with the TV and HDCP 2.2 with UHD not working on Sky Q and other sources

Cancelled last night
Q reinstated this morning.
Paying less too.
The saving could buy me a better TV and soundbar then the glass too.

All we need is the puck for the mini box so we can watch uhd on more than 1 TV

UHD from SkyQ and all other tested sources (AppleTV, UHD Blu-ray, PC, Mac, files on a USB stick and internal apps) is working fine for me, lets me set Deep Colour to 4k (actually it auto sensed a compatible device and set that port to 4k deep colour) and have confirmed its working with the engineer output. Would guess either there has been a Firmware update or there is a problem batch or Batches out there

From the thread it appear it's sets made around September/early October and is spread over different sizes and from various outlets

Hi,
Can anyone who cancelled let me know the number to call please?
I get to the Returns FAQ and it says Call Us" but no number - I'm going round in circles.
Thanks

OK, cancelation was relatively painless - and ended up with a discount.
Called Sky, no questions about why the glass return - Panther pickup November 5th. Received an email while still on the phone to confirm. Premium services went off Glass straight away.
Was put through to the Q dept, couldn't find my old account at first, then it came through - was told it would take up to 7 days to get it back (agghh!). 7 minutes later though had a call from Sky again, went through my Q package (basic, sports, UHD, Netflix, ultimate, multiroom) should be £99, was £74 last week before Glass, now £64 for 18 months. Q reactivated within minutes.
So, disappointed with Glass, issues with the playlist and not suiting our mainly live TV viewing and recording - main issue was our broadband though, not strong enough. Will consider again if and when we get FTTP, by then any software issues may be sorted - and Sky available by puck only! Who knows.

To be fair, you were always on the cusp for three streams in HD - for which Sky advise 20Mbps minimum. And you were unlikely to get a single UHD stream - for which Sky advise 25Mbps. So the chances of you being able to use the main feature of Sky's expensive 4K TV were always slim. Did you try a single UHD stream? And did Sky miss a trick by not offering cheaper HD TVs?

No-one is now manufacturing HD panels in larger sizes.

Which to me screams Market Opportunity. Not everyone wants small rooms - or even large rooms - to be dominated by giant TV screens…indeed there's no benefit in having 4K in a small room. So a choice of 32-42in Glass HD screens might have found plenty of new buyers - especially if they can't get smaller screens anywhere else.
