Re: How is the new F1 season going so far, any issues?

Yeah funnily enough I had Virgin call me today, as I'd been looking online.  Seriously thinking of going over just for the 1 Gig Broadband, vand Sky Sports.  I'm inside my Sky Q reversion cooling off period.

So if Friday doesn't work out with the TV, I may go that way.

I do like Sky Go though, he interested to know how good the Virgin App is fo watching on tablets

The VM app is utter garbage. You need to view Sky Sports through the sky sports app, it's also not on Xbox, PS or anything like that. I have ultimate volt (1gig full TV with three boxes and the SIM) for about 95 a month but thankfully work pick up the bill. I love glass and love the idea but F1 is all I record. I'll stick with the TV but with a much reduced subscription for now.

So do you have to use the virgin login, for the sky sports app,? Seems a round about way of doing it?

Yep. Download the SS app, there is a sky login, nowtv and a Virgin one. Use that and away you go. Obviously no casting or anything.

Re: How is the new F1 season going so far, any issues?

Amazingly I still cannot find the full race to watch right now anywhere on my Glass. It is available on the Sky Go app, which makes it even more of a joke.

What an absolute scam. There is no way it takes this long to fix, so they clearly do not give a toss about their Glass F1 customers.

Oh well, luckily there are ways to watch the race after the fact thanks to more competent individuals out there on the web, and I can save paying £25 a month for sports.

Re: How is the new F1 season going so far, any issues?

I have to admit that I to love glass and still think eventually it will offer a good reliable service. Did think about going back to sky Q but until it was mentioned in an earlier post I had forgotten I would have to buy the mini boxes again. And would mean I would be back to only running 3 baoxes at a time my house use 3 pucks and glass tv and they are all on at the same time on a regular basis. So again sky have me over the prevrbleal barrel.

need four televisions. Can't get virgin. And no ther provider worth looking at in my area

Re: How is the new F1 season going so far, any issues?

Agreed. I can remember the rocky start I had with Q but it just felt like the fixes came much quicker (they probably didn't but looking back it felt closer to a finished product). Glass is brilliant for most things and it's clearly the future. I just they'd be honest with us. Reading the posts from those users who have pushed sky, it really does look like they either don't know the issues or just don't want to admit to them.

Re: How is the new F1 season going so far, any issues?

The annoying this is this worked perfectly for the last few races of last season. All sessions, there and 'recorded' from the start, pick up and watch it any time you want as if you were using Q. They've actively made it worse seemingly by design.  That fact alone is both infuriating me but also giving me hope that they should be able to get this sorted.

Odd that  some of you still can't see the race yet in your play list.
have to tried a reset on your tv ? Hold power switch right hand side of TV lower of the two buttons wait till power light flashes then tv will shutdown and restart this can take up to 10 mins depending on your broadband speed.
may do nothing but worth a try

E mail sent Sunday

I am sure you are aware of the problems we are all experiencing with the streaming of the F1 coverage on Sky Glass.

I have been a sky customer for over 14 years and have been happy with the service. However after been persuaded to move from sky Q to what was sold to me as all singing and dancing Sky glass I am total disgusted that I cannot watch something at my leisure as I did with Sky Q..
I do feel this has been missold to me and I will be taking the matter further if a satisfactory solution is not put forward.

A very extremely dissatisfied sky customer.

Response received Tuesday pm

Good afternoon Richard,

Thanks for taking the time to contact us about Sky Sports F1 on Sky Glass.

I'm sorry to read that you have been experiencing issues watching last weekends' coverage of Sky Sports F1 on Sky Glass.

In order to help, do you still have issues watching this and if so why? Are you unable to find the content or is it not available?

I look forward to your reply.

My reply

Thank you for your reply.

It appeared on my play list Monday Morning which I consider unsatisfactory.

I am sure you will be aware of the thread on Sky Community regarding this issue.

If it is to believed what is on there then Sky is in my opinion acting disgracefully which I find it hard to believe.

Could you please confirm the issue that we all had on not been able to watch F1 on either HD or UHD over this last weekend will not be repeated this weekend as I am sure you can understand that we pay for that service as do Sky Q customers which I was one of them and they still receive that service. Also the adverts and the way it is sold has you believe that you can stream any programme including sport straight away or indeed watch from the start if you dip into while the programme is still been transmitted, this is not the case with Sport which of course I will be letting our local media know about this if the problem persists.

I am sure you will understand especially if you are sporting fan that if you need to watch a sporting event on catch up you want it to be available immediately before you see the result which greatly takes away the enjoyment of the event.

I consider having taken out the contract etc for Sky Glass it is a MASSIVE step backwards and needs to be addressed as a matter of urgency.

Hopefully to be one happy customer again

We will wait and see. Not holding any hope.

Re: How is the new F1 season going so far, any issues?

A quick off topic question does anyone no what the different colours mean on Glass TV. The reason i ask is mine is showing a constant white light which i thought was the standby light. And the light is on now even while i am watching the tv ?

Recordings. Only better.

With Playlist, you can record shows from Sky, BT Sports, Eurosport, Gold, W, and more, ready to watch right away.

Interesting statement taken from the Sky App giving benefits of Sky Glass

@Tricky+Dee  that's the exact statement quoted to them. It's funny when they react to thier own marketing.

Hi all,

I just want to signpost that I'll lock this thread on Friday (25th March) morning.

My aim is to make it easier for members to track, follow and participate in conversations based on race weekends rather than the season as a whole.

Re: How is the new F1 season going so far, any issues?

@Mark-Br

Hi Mark, we've provided direct feedback to your question yesterday about the service.

When can we expect a clear response from Sky as to our questions around the need for understanding the expected service, issues in that service and resolution timelines?

Thanks

Sky Glass 55, 2 pucks, LG OLED, Sonos Arc, surrounds and sub.
