Re: How is the new F1 season going so far, any issues?

I've been on the phone for an hour, on this second call.

think I'm reverting back to Q, but unsure whether to keep the TV to use on it

Re: How is the new F1 season going so far, any issues?

To be fair the tv is not that great i am on my second one and still disappointed with the surround sound quality.

as for going back to sky Q wont work for me the reason. I upgrade (use the term upgrade loosely based on current issues) trees at the bottom of my garden are causing signal issues with the sky Dish. Cant switch to Virgin (sorry about the bad language ) but sky is the only provider that can provide digital signal cant even get free view there i go swearing again. So its Sky for me or nothing. Anyone else managed to speak with a manager ?

Re: How is the new F1 season going so far, any issues?

Now they are telling me I have to keep the TV, so I've read them section 75 of the consumer credit act as I paid up front on a credit card

Now on hold again

I have been on the phone again and managed to get more inconsistent importation can you believe the advisor suggested i watch F1 UHD on Sky Go she was not even aware you cant get UHD on sky Go. Or even access your sky Glass play list .

At this point i almost lost it however took a deep breath and asked to speak to a manager, apparently i will get a call back within next 24Hrs.

Updates to follow

I have been able to find the race in HD on sky glass.

Steps:

Home > Sport > Top Picks (Bahrain GP Highlights tile) > On this week > Second option ("Bahrain GP: Stand Alone Race)

Re: How is the new F1 season going so far, any issues?

Everything was there in UHD when I got home from work today. FP1 and FP2 were there instantly after the broadcast on Friday in UHD. It's clearly possible, not a rights issue and technical issues in my mind...and clearly most customer service and managers have no clue.

Sky Glass 55, 2 pucks, LG OLED, Sonos Arc, surrounds and sub.

Re: How is the new F1 season going so far, any issues?

@lhuf98 that is because it's currently being broadcast on SSF1

Interestingly the available now has the 2020 Bahrain GP, 2019 one, 2017 one, and 2021 one all recorded some point this week 🤯

Re: How is the new F1 season going so far, any issues?

Right so I've now fully cancelled Glass, and I'm back on Sky Q.  Better offer than I had before as I've been on the phone for about four hours.

In terms of getting a refund for the TV, I have a call back with them end of this week. seems I presented them a new grey area, with the Credit card section 75 thing.  Being sold a misrepresented product or service.

I will let you guys know, I really don't want Mastercard to have to get involved, when this is resolved easier in house.

Re: How is the new F1 season going so far, any issues?

In short, terribly.

Waited weeks to watch the race, set everything up on the play list before I went to work yesterday, got home at 6pm and nothing!!

Apart from the Chequered Flag programme that I obviously wasn't going to watch before I'd actually seen the race itself.

Spoke to sky services and they were clueless, just telling me it's usually all uploaded within an hour of the live program finishing. I explained that I had set multiple programmes that started at 12pm and it's now 6pm. Again no answer, just apologies.

Then to top it off, some idiot at Sky had uploaded a Race Recap programme and titled it with the race winners name. 🤬

It ruined my weekend and I had to watch the race at 8pm last night on Channel 4 knowing who won.

Sky are completely incompetent and I will be seeking a refund this week.

@CP+1960

Well done for your tenacity and persistence with Sky, that's a long time to be talking to Sky to sort this out.

You obviously argued your case well given that you negotiated a better deal than you had before.

Good luck with your on-going battle to get a refund on the TV but I suspect you know what you are doing.

In the meantime, the rest of us will continue to wrestle with Sky and try to keep the pressure on to eventually get the not-fit-for-purpose system improved to at least be usable.

Good luck and enjoy your 'superior' enjoyment of F1 on Sky Q... 👍

Re: How is the new F1 season going so far, any issues?

I just know my consumer rights, I may still not get the outcome I want though.  I was tempted to just keep the Glass, until they told me I have no choice anyway 😒.  That's when it led into a four hour phone call.

I can't fault the guy that persisted with me tonight, who was from the retentions team.  He seemed to know more about this playlist issue, than any of the customer service agents.  Its a shame as Sky Glass has the potential to be a really slick product, if only they could get it working properly, and as advertised!!!

Unfortunatley the Sky Sports issue has been the final nail in the coffin, of a three month troubleshooting process constanly battling with TV faults.  I look forward to recording the F1 properly this weekend on a product I know cuts the mustard.

Re: How is the new F1 season going so far, any issues?

Sadly your a day late a a dollar short my friend, sky will not give you a refund (loss of service credit) as there have no idea how long this issue will last, as your sky glass tv package is contract free there are no offers to help compensate you for not being able to watch F1.

In short Sky are basically saying put up with it till its fixed or exercise your right to cancel Sky Sports or even the whole account so much so they were even willing to cancel my credit agreement on the TV and arrange collection for the TV which i have had since the Sky lass launch last October.

They think they have us over a barrel on this one. I for one have been on the phone to them serval times over the weekend and getting nowhere, I am currently waiting on a call for a manager to discuss further but not holding much hope that i will actually get the call back.

But please let us know if you get your refund.

@lhuf98 Hah, there it is! Nuts. Not sure I would've found it that way.

Re: How is the new F1 season going so far, any issues?

Not surprised at all. I've removed Sports (billing date tomorrow). I'll stick to the HD on Virgin as at least it reliably records. I did look at reverting back to Q but keeping the glass TV but it's just too expensive to buy all the Mini's again.
