The only way you would get to keep them is if you purchase them (Buy and Keep) from the sky store

I have seen quotes from Sky staff confirming that recordings will never be deleted from Sky boxes and I personally have never had anything self delete, but every now and again someone posts that it has happened.

@oj01 agree, I've never had a physical recording from a linear tv channel disappear
I always use keep pin protect whether that makes a difference who knows

Personally with sky q, I have not had a problem with recordings. Only with downloads do the license requirement come in in my experience.

The Harry Potter movies are available On Demand until Feb 27, 2023.

@Ian+111 Did you record them from live TV broadcast or did you Download them from Sky Cinema On Demand?
It should not matter as the Harry Potter movies are not due to expire from On Demand until Feb 27, 2023. So they should be available at least until then. Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them does not have an expiry date (download).

I recall that ITV ran Harry Potter before Sky Cinema got it. I wonder if that's where these missing recordings came from.
