Re: HDR v3 box not fit for purpose (sound cutting out)

Had to stop watching 'Devils' in UHD last night, counted 7 'long' dropouts in first 5 minutes, total joke. Weird thing was 30 mins later rewound it and played again and none at all. It's so damn annoying.

Loads of sound drop outs at the moment whilst watching a show on the Discovery+ app on the Sky Q box.

Come on kei+m the sky community Manager how about an update?

this sound problem has existed a for long time now, can you tell us:-

1 what you have ruled out

2 what you are working on now

3 what you intend to work on next

4 how you intend to compensate your loyal customers who have stuck with you during this time.

is this too much to ask?

You'd need to use the @  to tag someone so they are aware.  However, I doubt you'll get specific answers.

The software update (if this is indeed the fix) will be rolled out when ready.

Re: HDR v3 box not fit for purpose (sound cutting out)

Another complaint email sent to try and sort the issue. As well as the intermittent sound issues, one of my Sky Q minis keeps losing connection (no issues with previous box). I received a John Doe letter today where Sky are aware of the issue.

@PandJ2020  I did mate, but the process wouldn’t let me tag him.

Might be because if they get an alert they might feel obligated to respond to it.

we still need an update, it’s all very well admitting there’s a problem like some sky employes have, but we need to know roughly where we stand for a fix time scale wise so we can make an informed choice as regards cancelling or renewing  our contracts or not

Strange, I can tag him...  I agree but I doubt they'll commit to any timelines until the fix has passed testing.

Re: HDR v3 box not fit for purpose (sound cutting out)

Well I'm done, 30 years I think with Sky and cancelled yesterday. Had a chat with a customer service guy who even after I told him why I was cancelling continued to ask me 3 times during the call "are you happy with the service you have received from Sky!!!!!!!!" I told him that given my subs were going up not down and this issue now being, in my case, a problem for at least 4 months that some form of reduction should be a given he told me that the 'best' offer he could do was £83 per month (and that's without phone/BB) so just told him thank you and I am off.

Sad really as no other options for watching sport etc. And wife and kids very unhappy but sometimes you just have to take a stand, I would have probably stayed if some consideration given to reducing the price to a 'sub standard' service level but nothing, no interest or taking into account the problems so that's that.

Re: HDR v3 box not fit for purpose (sound cutting out)

I have to say that it's very disappointing to  "upgrade" to Sky Q like we recently did and discover that we're getting a worse experience than we had with our SKY+ HD box, the whole user interface although it looks initially flashy is actually a PITA and I'm getting stick from the whole family about it and now we are getting audio drop outs in our recordings and streamed programs ! every time it happens the wife looks at me as if it's my fault!

Come on SKY please get it fixed.

Re: HDR v3 box not fit for purpose (sound cutting out)

I've seen a few comments here talking about the pixelation that is also happening alongside the sound drops.. last night I first noticed this happening with me.. and it's just another thing to add to the list now that is really starting to frustrate me!
