What kind of TV shows can you get reminders on geektown for? the name makes it sound like its only sci fi! are there reminders for stuff like NCIS Los Angeles

@Skyuser1981  I have already replied to you on this thread & gave you a link to GT to help you out. I guess you didn't use it, so here it is again.

On the home page ( where my link will take you ) under " Filter the list below ", you will also see this: " Click here to TRY THE A TO Z LISTINGS of ALL SHOWS." Use that link for a full A - Z & 1 - 9 of programmes that GT cover.

Here's a screenshot to give you an idea of what you'll see, there are hundreds of shows covered by GT.

Re: Epgservices sky never miss

I signed up to Geektown Never Miss but the issue i have is that although its great to have some sort of replacement, its not the now defunct Sky Never Miss,   theres too much that can trigger the email , from renewal info to a show being cancelled, i got an email for a show that used to be on Universal called Coroner , the info states 29th July (TBC)  with Sky Witness shown as UK Channel, yet last i read More 4 had bought the show and that was the channel that would show season 2 after running with season 1 first .

So the email is a bit confusing as clicking on the link its very confusing over what info has generated the email, the other thing is since the sky guide doesn't go that far as the 29th yet even if the email is correct for a new season, you can't set it to record, its alright to say create a folder etc etc but the whole point of Sky Never Miss was to get a reminder at a point you could go and set the programme to record not shove it in a folder where its a constant opening of every email to check for shows about to start as the email headers don't have the show title in them so every email says geektown show updated in them , so generic which means opening every email to go thru each one ,plus the email itself has no info in it other than a generic update so its then a case of pressing every link too if you can't remember dates , so the whole thing is flawed.

I've signed up to the other Never Miss that was posted in this thread, but thats not up and running yet, so im hoping that is more just a nice simple your show is about to start email reminder or Geektown can maybe tweak the options a bit to create a simple reminder of show about to air in 7 days like the old Sky Never Miss did.

Re: Epgservices sky never miss

Posted by a Superuser, not a Sky employee. Find out more

@cardy1970  There was confusion as to want rights more4 had picked up for coroner as it was on universal before it closed down and all the programs that were on universal have been moved to sky branded channels

It looks like more4 picked up first run FTA rights rather first run pay rights which sky retained

@GeekTown only provides details of where shows are first shown in uk and not repeats/second run FTA Rights so the information provided is correct unless the situation for that particular show changes in which case the page will be updated

You can always put a reminder in your calendar 7 days out from broadcast to remind you to set the show to record

Re: Epgservices sky never miss

Been a Sky customer for over 20years, and only have a HD box because I think loyality should be rewarded so if they want to give me a free Q box at more reasonable rate then fine. I used never miss NOT FOR TV but for FILMS so i would like to watch again ALIEN AUTOSPY and would previously put this into NEVERMISS but now my only option is to pay AMAZON to watch it. THANKS FOR NOTHING BRING BACK NEVER MISS

Re: Epgservices sky never miss

Agreed. A very handy, useful service; cost-wise, I pay through the nose for Sky Sports, so can't afford Cinema as well. Having said that, most of the films on my Never Miss wouldn't be anywhere near Sky, which renders their recommendations even more redundant. A churlish execution.

Re: Epgservices sky never miss

Be aware when using Geektown, when you receive an email from them it may not be to let you know when your programme is due back on air, they may be letting you know that it has been cancelled or perhaps renewed, or some other relevant information.

Re: Epgservices sky never miss

@Alison-  Totally agree with your posting.  I participate in numerous "professional" forums and find Sky very cumbersome to say the least.  The various components do not seamlesly integrate.  Topics are scattered around in various locations and don't all appear in searches.  It is difficult sometimes to write a reply depending on where you are accessing and don't even mention this dreaded HTML message which I persistently codfronted with!

Re: Epgservices sky never miss

@Eddie+Evans  Totally agree with you.  Sky take loads of money from their customers but never consult with them on any planned changes.  Never have customer surveys to ascertain what their user base require and in the case of "Never Miss" just cease whT was a very good functional service without prior warning.  Of course they will be giving us a monthly discount in recompense - mind the porcine aviators!

Re: Epgservices sky never miss

@Annie+UK   It is obvious that you and your fellow semi privelaged Oracles and Betas are not happy.  However with respect if I was in your position I would just withdraw my support and tell Sky per se to just get on with it which is what they appear to do in any case.  They are ruining what was a first class professional service by their asinine behaviour.  Tehey should be conducting consumer surveys to determine what features their paying customers require rather than vague sections in what are difficuto navigate forums which they take no notice of in any case.

@oj01  Agree.  Just installed it and no substitute for Sky's NM.  Will be deleting I suspect.

@Midiless  I presume you are referring to Geektown? if so, there is someone else setting up a NM site, it's not quite ready yet, they hope to be up & running soon. You can find them here.

Re: Epgservices sky never miss

Taking away functionality whilst in an increasingly competitive market. Clever.

Well, I upgraded last year so I suppose sky have got me for a little while longer but that may be it. The BroadBand is adequate but often 'stutters' ;TVis adequate but not outstanding; extra features like this were convenient.

If a service that's adequate has no extras then it would have to compete purely on price and content. Nevermiss being removed won't be the reason I leave sky (after 31 years! I think) but it will be a contributing factor along with the extremely poor way it's been done. Maybe sky have a new business strand that doesn't need customers!
