@Skyuser1981 Have you seen the posts on here that give links to Geektown who are setting up their own Never Miss service? Maybe give them a go, they will give you email notifications the same as Sky did. You'll have to spend a bit of time setting it up depending on how many shows you want to be notified about, but once you're setup, you're good to go. In case you missed the link, here it is.

Re: Epgservices sky never miss
Update re my complaint to Sky concerning the removal of Never Miss...
I wrote them a physical letter on 2nd June because the email I sent bounced back and I couldn't get through on the phone. After almost a month I received a call which I missed and this was immediately followed up by a text saying 'Dear Mr Alfred...' Now this isn't even a close approximation of my surname and seemed to have been randomly selected. Is this important? Well I've been a Sky subscriber for around 25 years with a 1 year gap about 10 years ago when I moved house. I think that if you have a customer of almost 25 years standing that you can at least make the effort to get their surname right. In fairness, they did call back and I spoke to a pleasant person who told me that Never Miss had been removed because other systems were in place which were enhanced and that the service was being improved. In the end it was obvious that she just wanted the complaint removed and I didn't remotely give her a hard time because clearly it hadn't been her decision.
Like many on here I feel utterly dismayed and betrayed by the actions of Sky TV. Any modern forward thinking company will at least pay lip-service to concepts such as consultation and customer involvement and satisfaction but clearly not Sky. Unfortunately my contract runs until February 2021 when it 100% will not be renewed. Betrayed and angry.

Re: Epgservices sky never miss
I see that Virgin's TiVo has an on box function called Wish Lists with which you search or program to auto-record, based on keyword, title, actor, director, or category.
Assuming it works as suggested, it sounds like a better solution than Nevermiss, so unless Sky are looking to quickly provide a similar function on the SkyQ box, it may just be another reason to reconsider our options.

Re: Epgservices sky never miss
I like to look and see what new series are coming on and/or look to see when earlier seasons will be aired. It is impossible to show all new series in the new setup, I also frequently find that series link doesn't always work to record subsequent series being shown. Not the best idea from sky - why couldn't both platforms run in tango?

Re: Epgservices sky never miss
Sky would rather its customers rented films, so why give them a route to watch for free? Customers realise that the "enhanced" service escuse is just a load of waffle. Some boardroom bod has come up with this to increase revenue. Sky are more interested in business than giving a good customer service.
The only thing customers can do is vote with their feet and leave. Which we are going to do

Re: Epgservices sky never miss
So I also went to Never Miss only to find the page replaced by the message about the enhanced New Series service - obvious BS, since it has consistently failed to give me any worthwhile information. Given that the "enhanced" series link offered by Sky on their SkyHD boxes has frequently failed to work (especially on non-Sky channels), or started recording repeats or old series, I doubt the New Series will ever be enhanced in a comparable way.
Such a shame that Sky, who are happy to take hundreds of £ from us every year, have such distain for us paying customers that they can't be bothered to notify users of the service cancellation, or even bother to tell us about the cancellation of the service on the redirect page.
So time to give GeekTown a go. If anyone from Sky see this, and even less likely cares one iota, I'm really NOT HAPPY about this cancellation.

Thanks @Anonymous for the referral to Geektown, unfortunately it doesn't cover films.

Re: Epgservices sky never miss
just to let everyone know that Hawaii five-0 has been cancelled by CBS, as I've seen a couple of people mention it on here, not realising it has been cancelled.

Yes, this is correct, I should have added GT deal with TV shows only from the US & the UK.

Re: Epgservices sky never miss
It’s been interesting to read the many user responses to the Sky Never Miss service, and sad to read the lame response from Sky.
It has always been an under exposed service, that should have been regularly advertised on the Sky platform, as an important part of the Sky ecosystem. However, knowledge of even its existence was mainly limited to person to person recommendation, following chance discovery. Even with that handicap it had reached a point where user involvement in the service, by those that knew of it was high, and greatly appreciated.
All successful businesses know that actually achieving user involvement in a rewarding service is extremely valuable, as one of the most important parts of attaining loyalty in any service, and minimising client losses and churn rates.
IMHO such was the error, that the removal of Sky Never Miss was tantamount to Google removing Google Play, or Apple removing the Apple Store.
The fact is, all the programme information that was used by the Sky Never Miss service was and still remains in the public domain. Now that Sky have abdicated their leading role as the aggregator of such programme information, and backed of from ecosystems, the batten will simply be passed to someone else.
Someone that is able to use the increasingly available AI techniques, to make it a viable automated service. Some early endeavourers have already been made, but we can expect much more sophisticated examples on the horizon, well before it probably becomes just another part of the Google Home ecosystem.
Why did it happen?
Sky seem to be obsessed with push technologies. Those that attempt to tell the viewer what to watch, with best picks etc. Most of us know that with over 12 million Sky viewers, that is largely a futile exercise, as there will be at least 12 million opinions of what are the best picks.
I say obsessed because Sky have tried and tried again, and failed at push technology attempts.
First there was the Sky Magazine. Which in the days of analogue started as being quite useful, especially for selecting films for the month. But then then they started filling the magazine with what we should be watching. It reached a point that many if not most put the magazine straight in bin with the plastic address wrapper still on.
Then there was the time when half the hard disk space of the Sky box was filled up with programmes that you should be watching, not selected by you, but auto re-loaded to make it quicker to see them. Another failure of programmes that few wanted.
Jumping forward to today, in the Sky+ Guide we now have the bottom half of the screen dedicated to best picks, again its the failed push technology.
But this time their failed and futile push technologies have been on the alter of sacrificing Sky Never Miss.
IMHO an extremely bad business decision.
Keep safe everyone.

Re: Epgservices sky never miss
this is one of the best replies in this thread. Perhaps we should all contact Sky and ask for all the data they hold on us under the data protection act. This information should include our Never Miss data as it is personal to each of us.

Re: Epgservices sky never miss
@Elveron Some have claimed to have done this but no one has reported what they got.
I suggested it myself but it depends how strong the link is between the nevermiss data and identifying the person is .

Re: Epgservices sky never miss
I would have thought that as you had to sign in using your same details as logging in to the main website that the Never Miss data should be included. If they can't supply my all my info I will go to the ICO.

@Elveron HOWEVER the regulations say data must only be kept as long as the company needs it, Sky could well have deleted it as "no longer required"
