Re: Epgservices sky never miss

On my Sky planner, I've had seasons 2, 3 and 4 of Gomorrah for an absolute age, probably more than a year, a total of 38 episodes more or less, taking up almost 50% of my allotted space. I've had season 1 on my Never Miss list for over a year, waiting patiently for an email to tell me that it's on! It isn't going to happen now!

Re: Epgservices sky never miss

Like everyone else I'm appalled but not surprised by the way sky have handled this. I'm another long time user of NM alongside geektown, and the new series functionality on sky Q is, well, rubbish

I wonder if they became aware of some sort of security issue, possibly with registered emails...the software seemed to be pretty old so I wouldn't be surprised if it was missed as an internal app during other system upgrades. Purely guesswork as I can't imagine what else would cause it to be effectively taken down and no one seems able to comment on the reason.  Or maybe just an old server out of maintenance agreements.

even if it had to be done quickly, some sort of communication afterwards would have been appreciated.

Re: Epgservices sky never miss

I've had a response to my CEO email:

am pleased that you have been enjoying the Never Miss service with us, All of our products come under review which includes factors such as Its popularity, utilization by the public, technical changes which may alter the way the service operates and options for changing the way that we deliver the service are just a few of these. There has been a decision made using business sensitive information which has resulted in this change.

It has been decided at this time not to continue with the service however we may look to return the service via another route in the future, as always we will update all of our new features via the Sky website or the My Sky app.

Given that the CEO emails seem to be getting responses, I would suggest anyone upset at losing NM takes the time to email the CEO.

A quick search in Google to get the email address and two minutes to write the email could make all the difference.

Re: Epgservices sky never miss

I use Geektown as well and that's why I found Never Miss so handy.

Interesting they have suggested it may come back in another way. But as another community member has pointed out we should be at least able to get our lists.

I will be asking this question when I email the CEO per your suggestion. I appreciate everything posted online is fair game for anyone to view or manipulate but  as far as I was aware I was securely logging in to a private page. These listings would be invaluable to Sky or other TV providers as a way of marketing.

At the very least they should confirm the data will be removed.

If I do not get a satisafactory response I will be contacting the Commison for Communications Regulation and the Data Protection Commission here in Ireland,

Sky never miss

See below from Sky as to why Never Miss is cancelled. I suggest everyone send a complaint via the Sky link below :

https://www.sky.com/help/complaints

The never miss service was removed on the 18th May and this was a business decision made by Sky. All contact is monitored and customers comments are noted.

The service is not being brought back and there are no plans to re instate this service going forward.

The service has been replaced by the below:

On Sky Q, simply select Home and then TV Guide, and scroll up to New Series to find the shows recommended for you.

On Sky+, select New Series from the Top Picks area.

And also the catch up section of the boxes to catch up on anything you have missed.

I understand the frustration you may have with this decision but this is Sky stance at this current time

Re: Sky never miss

People are capable of finding new Series.

The issue is Never Miss helped you pick up old series being re-aired or new series which will not necessarily be promoted by Sky.

Re: Can't find page to enter never miss programmes please help me !!!!

I  am absolutely gutted  that the nevermiss facility has gone - it was brilliant.  I relied on it 100% to let me know when my favourite series were coming back on.  I have no idea how to connect my tv up to broadband so i cant even try any of  the suggestions that have been put forward to compensate for nevermiss.  My tv and router are not in the same room and are also on separate electrical circuits.  For Sky to do this without warning and  to be so secretative about why,  i have a wild theory....Perhaps the nevermiss database got hacked and our details have been stolen......... After 20yrs with the overpriced sky tv service, nevermiss was its crown jewel and i shall not be renewing my contract when it ends this time, unless the nevermiss service has been restored.  Any input anyone?

Sky Never Miss

Just found out that Never Miss has been deleted by Sky. Cannot for the life of me understand why and Sky CS said it was because it wasn’t used enough!!

Given it was one of the few customer useful elements on the site, I feel very ill used by an arrogant Sky

Re: Epgservices sky never miss

I absolutely agree with all these comments. Sky didn't even have the courtesy to inform viewers it was removing Never Miss. That means that all programmes in there are now lost and as I had a lot I cannot remember them all.  It really is not good enough and once again shows that Sky really doesn't care about its customer base.

Re: Sky Never Miss

"One of the few customer useful elements on the site"  - how well  put.   Of the 300+  channels that Sky boasts, there are only 6 channels that i want that i  wouldn`t be able to get with Freeview.  I  have been with Sky over 20yrs but i will not be renewing my contract when this one expires - unless they bring back nevermiss or something as good as.  I recon they had a data breech and had to shut down quick to avoid having to disclose the breech.  Can`t think of any other reason for the cloud of secrecy.  You just dont shut down a service without informing the users beforehand.

Re: Epgservices sky never miss

I agree I can see no positive reason for this to have been cancelled and the fact they gave no warning is even worse.

I used it to keep track of what program and series we were due next, at least if we had warning them we could have made a note of our list!

Think they should have maybe used feedback from actual customers before removing!!!

It did make me laugh that it says 'there's an even better way' what having to go and check a page all the time rather than getting a notification not sure who thinks that's a better idea

Re: Epgservices sky never miss

I'm new to these community forums having never posted anything until Sky removed Never Miss.

I  do have a couple of questions if anyone feels inclined to answer:

1. Does anyone employed by Sky actually read these forums and respond to them?

2.. Has there ever been a 'revolt' amongst Sky customers before along these lines and if so did it do any good? In other words, could Sky potentially listen or, are we all in reality probably wasting our time complaining?

3. Who are the Oracles?

Re: Epgservices sky never miss

Posted by a Superuser, not a Sky employee. Find out more

@NicholasJA in answer to your questions:

1. Yes, Sky do read posts and occasionally post on the forum, but it's primarily a customer community

2. Yes, there have been issues in the past which have attracted critical attention. The Community Managers do pass on the the feedback expressed here to those in Sky who need to know. Personally I think it's highly unlikely that the feedback on this issue will result in Never Miss being reinstated. From what I've gleaned from the response we've seen from customer services, it look like there was an overwhelming reason for its withdrawal which probably hasn't and won't change.

Re: Epgservices sky never miss

Ok thanks for the information Mark. I think that customers might be more understanding and accepting of the removal of Never Miss if the reasons for doing so were explained.
