Re: Epgservices sky never miss

The never miss service was mostly for films and here is why, your modern box like Sky Q and HD box automatically put in your planner the next series if you have previously recorded it. Now for tonights viewing off the sky platform will be either SAW 2 or Scream 3 as it's cheaper on Amazon and i can't get a reminder anymore

Re: Epgservices sky never miss

This is ridiculous.

We had 40-50 movies on nevermiss, basically any time I got a recommendation it went on there, then I could forget about it until I got an email telling me that the movie I wanted to watch was on.

Not only is that not going to happen any more, but also I have no idea what was on that list, and I can't get to the site to retrieve it.

I think I'll be going to Netflix only for movies now.

At least it'll save me some money.

Re: Epgservices sky never miss

Gutted they've taken this away.

I used it a lot when I saw adverts etc for new films or series. Now this new thing sounds as though you can't ask it to look for something that is not on their play list. 🤬

Bad move Sky!!!

Re: Epgservices sky never miss

I can't believe they have done this and without any warning as far as I can see. It was a really useful tool which ensured I didn't miss new series of programs I like. I have now reverted to pen and paper and will need to check the new series page myself. I guess it won't be long before I miss something. Thank you Sky for being as about as unhelpful as possible. Not sure why I should be surprised.

Sky never miss

PLEASE BRING BACK SKY NEVER MISS- THERE IS NO REPLACEMENT FOR IT. IT WAS SO USEFUL

Re: Epgservices sky never miss

It's not an answer, but I use trakt (http://trakt.tv) to manage my upcoming TV shows.  I'm disappointed that this feature has been removed, but I'm slowly extracting myself from Sky as well - with all the other providers available and the ability to get UHD, 5.1, etc. out of the box, it shows how old fashioned Sky really is.

Kinda prefer Netflix...

Re: Sky never miss

@mazza1953 I think that even if they did bring it back which I doubt very much, all our lists have been lost forever 😭

Tonights viewing off the SKY Platform will be THE TERMINATOR

Re: Epgservices sky never miss

Just had a look at trakt.tv and it seems like it could be a useful replacement if it can be set up to cover UK broadcasts rather than US.

Is this possible as I couldn't find the option on the site?

Re: Epgservices sky never miss

Trakt is more U.S. focussed but you can select your providers and U.K. providers are included in the options available.  It has an open API too so there are lots of third party apps which will help you manage your viewing.  I tend to just use the native website direct however.

Kinda prefer Netflix...

Re: Epgservices sky never miss

So I never make forum posts, however this made me want to post for the first time...

I wondered why I hadn't received a never miss email for QI, as by chance I noticed a new series had started and came across this thread.  You can imagine the joy of finding out never miss was goine via a customer forum post.   I could have been understanding if Sky had informed users that the never miss was going to be retired in N days/weeks so I could have made an offline list of the series that I had added over the past 7 years of using this.  To have not even been informed of this is just exceptionally poor customer service.

I relied on never miss as I found over time that a series link on my Sky box rarely worked and if it did it would link to a series that i had previously watched.  As a result I would delete the series link and rely on never miss to inform me when a new series was going to start.  Now that never miss has been removed I have no record of what I added and feel that this has just been a waste of time and effort on my part.

Now that I don't know what programmes i want to watch I think I will review my services with Sky once my box is cleared of all recordings.  I had considered Freesat and Netflix and I might just move to those and binge watch whole series once a show has ended.

To summarise I think this just shows the danger of using/paying for online services in general.  The provider can delete this at any point and all that you have saved/paid for will be gone.  This is a good reason I will stick to buying DVD's/Blu Ray's for any films, games etc.

In future Sky you might want to let existing customers know if you plan to remove any services.  We might be annoyed at it but you won't lose so much credibility by silently removing services.
