Eventually everyone will switch when they go to reup their contracts and get a better deal with the new package then the one they are on because the one they are on had no discount.

Given that there are still people on the old Variety pack, which stopped being offered back in January 2018 (or earlier) and somewhere in the region of 100,000 non HD boxes still being used, it'll be a long time before everyone's on the new packages.

But, Sky could say that the old packs are no longer valid and everyone not on the current pack has to switch.

One thing that really does bother me is paying a license fee for an SD channel. BBC Parliament should be HD wherever it's broadcast.

They've never done that in the past, so I doubt they would now.

Forcing customers into a 20% increase (assuming the new pack cost the same as old+HD add-on) would not be popular either.

This is a link to an updated set of terms and conditions.  See final page for list of channels on Sky Glass.  Noteworthy for two reasons:

- there is an indication that HD wil be coming to the following channels in November:

PBS America

Together TV

TCM

GinxeSports TV (this means that all the Sports channels in the TV guide will be in HD)

- some channels not previously announced as HD are shown as being in HD already:

The latter may be typos but, if not, it would suggest that greater prominence is being given in the TV guide to channels that are HD already, or have given an early commitment to convert to HD.  The attached list suggests that 41 of the 42 channels for which a number has been identified are, or are about to become, HD (only ComedyExtra is the exception).  If the numbers from 143 to 15x are also HD  channels that would appear to confirm a move to prioritise HD above all else.

I have seen a tweet from the Sky Help team suggesting 22 new channels are on the way - hopefully these aren't simply HD upgrades.
