Re: Channel List on Glass - full list

Really pleased to see that GB News is not on the Channel List for Sky Glass.   Always scared of accidentally tuning into this channel on Sky Q....at least with Glass, this could not happen.

Re: Channel List on Glass - full list

Hi all, so got my glass set up yesterday and apart from my sky broadband speed dropping to 11mb which is causing slight buffering occasionally, I will be calling sky today to ask them to look into it, everything else seems good with the TV, one thing I don't seem to be able to find though is channel 425 lfctv HD, being a massive Liverpool fan this is a bit annoying, there isn't even an option to subscribe to it🙁 does anyone know why and will it be added later?🤔

@p5 Third party subscription channels such as Premier Sport, LFCTV (and the 'other' one) aren't available on Sky Glass (and there's no indication that they will be)

@oj01 @p5

Presumably one issue may be Glass not having a unique viewing card number to link external subscriptions with.  This shouldn't be insurmountable, but requires a different approach to previous generations of Sky hardware.

Re: Channel List on Glass - full list

I understand from  cillbill on another forum that the channel numbers have changed - at least in the early part of the TV Shows section.  Sky seem to be prioritising their own channels.

I've set out the correct figures for 101-113.  Is anyone please able to update the list below to add the correct numbers, indicating which area of the UK you are in.  Any help appreciated.  I've included the Sky Q numbers for all genres apart from TV Shows as they may not have changed (though they may have done!).

Channel numbers will be changing - it looks like they're being organised into broadcaster groups - so I'm not sure there's much to be gained by trying to update this list now? Any Glass users will easily be able to switch to the channel they want just by speaking to the TV.

There won't be a Sky History 2 SD - Glass doesn't include the SD (or +1) versions of any channels.

I do wish Sky Q would do the same thing by dumping the SD versions channels that have HD versions. Also. dump the +1 channels where the non-+1 channel is HD. Then Sky should get the SD channels that are HD on Sky Glass to be HD on Q.

Why? The SD & +1 versions are tucked up out the way on the TV guide. If Q had the HD versions from Glass, then they'd be streamed, not broadcast, so would depend on broadband and also have the same potential problems with 'recordings'.

@LGUser All well and good you saying dump SD, but there are many people, like my sister, who don't have the HD pack therefore watch everything in SD.

BTW..she chooses this way as her eyes aren't great and she can't tell the difference between HD and SD

Re: Channel List on Glass - full list

It looks from the list I've seen at 101-113 as if Sky have already moved to group the channels by broadcaster - that's why I was asking now.  Do you think they are doing this piecemeal @rscott?

Solution to that. Make HD part of the standard subscription. You cannot buy a TV that's not HD capable. So why keep the SD versions?

I don't see why Sky could not work out a deal to allow these HD channels to be streamed via satalite.

Good idea....providing they ditch the HD packages and provide it FOC

It would cost the broadcaster a lot more to use satellite space than it would for streaming.

The only way Sky would make it part of the standard subscription would be in a new base package ( at a higher price), just as they did to include box sets in Sky Signature.
