Thanks to those who have provided information on this thread. What has yet to be answered is why Sky has not communicated with customers in any way - We are not customers of the individual stations, we are customers of Sky......good customer service would be to keep us informed.......pretty poor form...

@JOCDub If you mean in regards to the removal of the radio and music channels. Sky have informed people here on the forum, you should be asking the channels and radio stations why they havent informed anyone the music channes could have put a banner on screen to inform customers and the radio stations could have put an announcement out

@JOCDub This very thread, where you've posted, is where Sky announce channel changes.

TKS... SKY Community I never heard of til I googled after the Channels disappeared. Frankly it is not effective proactive communications... Most TV viewers do not even know Sky Community exists... Lucky them.

Logging off and letting the rest of ye snipe away at each other... PS No One is reading or noticing your endless ramblings...

This isn't a railway station, you don't need to announce your departure.

@TimmyBGood

Good Point, but I already pay a huge fee to IMRO and the music channels via Sky come under their Electronic Equipment clause in the Public Broadcasting contract.  But that's a moot point really, if we cannot access the Radio stations, isn't it?

Re: Changes to the Sky TV guide - December 2020

Maybe the EPG should differentiate between Free and Paid.  I’m pretty sure many people in the UK don't realise how much is free.  Sky don't differentiate because it isn't in their interests.

Broadcasters do pay Sky for inclusion on their EPG.  It isn't automatic.

@Annie+UK .  Thanks for the input.  Can we get the radio stations by adding channels?  If that's the case, my Sky Box won't let me.

Re: Changes to the Sky TV guide - December 2020

Yes Sky did post this on a forum this is the point. Any changes to our subscription should be notified to us directly not posted where people might miss it. It doesn't matter if they were a "free channel" it is still a change that has a negative impact on the service that we pay for.  And as a customer you should be just as annoyed. If channels you liked to watch were removed from your guide and the only notification was a by the way on a random forum you would be annoyed too. Also they can blame brexit all they want but to pull it 2 weeks early is just crap.

It does matter they are free channels as they are NOT subscription channels thus NOT part of you subscription, so by your own definition Sky need not inform you as your sub has not changed in any way

There is a Christmas EPG change freeze that lasts into the new year so they had to remove them early to beat the freeze

BTW we have channels removed regularly and the only announcement is on the forum, just look at the January's changes thread

Complain to the broadcasters about not being notified, not sky, this time only FREE channels were taken off the EPG so not the channels you pay for

Mark39 'In short - take it up with the channel owners. It's their responsibility, not Sky's.'

Of course its sky reaponsibility. They sell based on channels and vatiety. They could pay licenses or refund. Irish customers always massively charged v uk cuatomers. Sky do zero for irish customers bar ripping them off.
