Would you be able to identify your box using info at the following link?

@Shortcut Sky haven't said whether the update will continue to be transmitted after the weekend.

All Sky+HD boxes use the same manual update procedure, so you may not be doing it correctly. Be sure not to release the Backup button even momentarily until the lights on the front panel flash. That can take up to 20 seconds. You may need to make several attempts.

Read @Mark39 prevous post - thought if is was a really old box, procedure for manual update may be different, it obviously isn't... 😁

If you miss the download window dates as previously shown will my box still update if I leave it on overnight.  I have tried the manual update procedure but my box does not accept this procedure with the lights not showing on as described in the instruction.  It is an old SKY PLUS HD box.

The update procedure works on ALL sky boxes back to the original non-plus ones, if you have a broken back up button on your box is one reason you cannot preform the procedure

Try resting your finger across the back up button with an even pressure as using your finger tip can rock on the button and make a bad contact thus failing the procedure

I sometimes have to try a couple of times to get the update to work and I've done the procedure a lot when was beta testing the EPG

Re: BST TIME CHANGE PLEASE READ!!!

Thanks I was wondering if it was a dodgy backup button

Re: BST TIME CHANGE PLEASE READ!!!

Just a repeat of the 'procedure'...

Remove power from box, then hold down the 'backup' button ON the box (not remote) then power up - keep button pressed all the time, don't release even for a second, till all 4 lights are lit on front display, upwards of about 30 seconds. When all lights are lit, let go of button and let box do it's magic, about 10 minutes...

Easy to test, go to the TV Guide then press the back up button on the box, if nothing happens then the back up button is broken, if it goes out of the guide then you're not performing the procedure correctly

Re: BST TIME CHANGE PLEASE READ!!!

Thanks looks like the back up button on the box is not working as tested as advised.  Will have to wait until next year when the clocks go forward.

@TracyB42 We won't be because we are customers. You can do the manual update as described in the answer (post 2, page 1).

To be fair, an official Sky employee has posted reguarly on this thread, so question could be legitimately be aimed at him. Though I do agree that doing a manual forced software update is now the option I would choose... (Look at last page or so for full instructions)

Re: BST TIME CHANGE PLEASE READ!!!

My TV guide has still not corrected the BST update. Any suggestions?
