Re: BST TIME CHANGE PLEASE READ!!!

I think an information email from sky to those affected when the error came to light would have saved much of the negativity of this thread.

Usually companies inform customers directly when something as widespread as this happens.

Re: BST TIME CHANGE PLEASE READ!!!

Well stop press, my SKY banner is only showing the correct BST time.   Fancy that happening just as advertised in the umpteen updates from SKY.

Huge thank you to the SKY software fairies. Here's hoping the grass cutting fairies will have been today too!

From a resident of Scotland who has a neighbour called Hamish- no not that one!😉

Re: BST TIME CHANGE PLEASE READ!!!

I was watching something on ebay that was due to finish at 8.30pm. I was watching tv/sky and it showed time as 8.50pm so I thought I had missed the opportunity to bid on the ebay item. In actual fact the correct time was 7.50 pm so I missed out on purchasing an item I really liked. My message to Sky- if you're going to tell people the time, make sure it's the correct time otherwise it's as useful as a chocolate teapot.

Re: BST TIME CHANGE PLEASE READ!!!

Depends whether you were relying on the sky time being accurate or not really doesn't it?

Why on earth use skys clock when the device you were accessing eBay on must have had its own clock

Unless they've dozed off. I believe most people have a pretty good awareness of what the current hour is without having to look at a clock.

Re: Sky clock error

I wasn't threatening Sky. Just stating that £86 pm is these days a rip off compared to competition. This clock issue made me realise even more. So as you say, let's just leave......

Re: BST TIME CHANGE PLEASE READ!!!

Because, funnily enough, some of us were actually relying upon the time displayed being the correct time. as I said earlier, glad Sky isn't an airline.

We have no idea who you're replying to unless you either quote the post or @ the poster concerned.

Re: Sky clock error

@StephenSky If they can't get the time right I doubt whether they'd get the day right either (Thursday?). I'll be checking my box later, thanks for info.

Sky will be sorry to see you go, your subscription will be a real hit in their £13 Billion annual turnover

Being a multi billion pound corporation entitles them to overcharge and provide poor customer support and service?  🤔

Of course it does! As long as they keep the majority of their 14 Million subscribers broadly happy with the content they spew out, they don't worry about the small percentage of folk they [removed]! It's not like a local shop dependant on the local community for their livelihood.
