Re: BST TIME CHANGE PLEASE READ!!!

I managed to get through and she just said they're working on a fix and there's nothing that can be done and it should be fixed ASAP. I have a friend who's an engineer at Sky and he said the same thing so not worth calling especially with the amount of time it'll take to get through

Re: BST TIME CHANGE PLEASE READ!!!

No it doesn't just effect the clock. Because the time is wrong we cannot use the planner to book in programmes which occur within the hour eg starting in 30 mins time! Because the planner starts at the time shown on the clock. So the REAL forthcoming hour cannot be accessed on the planner!

When will the issue be resolved?

Re: Time is showing wrong on sky

I can confirm that recordings that had been scheduled for today are starting at the correct time, regardless of what the EPG says.

As Sky said, this appears just to be a cosmetic issue.

Have you tried scheduling a recording today? Others have and they agree with Sky that it's working correctly.

Re: BST TIME CHANGE PLEASE READ!!!

My Sky+ box hasn't updated the time change either. I've done all the usual stuff, switched  off at the mains, waited the 10 minutes, then waited again for the box to 'initialise' and it's still not working!!

Re: BST TIME CHANGE PLEASE READ!!!

I want to give my thanks to rsscott for explaining that it's not a straighforward thing to sort and that it will take time.  They obviously have a clearer understanding of matters like that and I have six grandchildren that grow up with it so it's as natural as breathing for them.  Some people (through not fault of theirs) aren't that fortunate though and all they need to help is a voice that will explain to them instead of others who ridicule them.  So on their behalf I give you thanks.  You deserve to be thanked (it's possible you helped a lot of unfortunates).  Thank you 🤗

Re: BST TIME CHANGE PLEASE READ!!!

It is pretty simple though it probably links to a ntp (internet clock) server. Admittedly it may take time as it probably only checks at 3am every morning or some other set variable and or server requests can take time to filter through a network.  But it's not a hard job it should be very very basic for a very basically aware network bod (who has access permissions)

That is if it's not in the system code like most operating systems that is or this year was not included in the list of clock changes as systems get older it happens.

Re: BST TIME CHANGE PLEASE READ!!!

Sky HD + box has not changed time this morning and is still incorrect at 14:10.
I bet if you have the new equipment this hasn't happened.
is this another way of Sky trying to makes us all swap to the Sky Q box.
very disappointed that Sky has not sorted this out by now.

Re: BST TIME CHANGE PLEASE READ!!!

But why is it complicated  and why will it take time? These very same boxes have always updated automatically in the past. They all changed in the spring without any problem so why not now. Stop treating us like kids.

Re: BST TIME CHANGE PLEASE READ!!!

Unfortunately like everyone else mine is still down. Here's hoping Sky can resolve the issue before next year...

Re: Time is showing wrong on sky

True if already planned. But it's 14:11 now. Try planning something for 14:30 which wasn't already planned! You can't as it doesn't show that time. This is frustratingly more than cosmetic for some.

Re: BST TIME CHANGE PLEASE READ!!!

I have two sky + HD boxes.

One box has automatically changed to one hour back the other box hasn't. Weird.
