cancel service due to unprofessional lack of service and breach of contract

how to formally cancel the horrible Sky Cable home internet service ?

I've a monthly plan, which for the last 3 days has been ZERO, as there has been no internet signal during that time,

and after only a few text updates during the 1st day, SKy conveniently lost interest and value of their customers and decided to STOP any further updates

it's now more than 72 hours outtage, and as I depend on internet for online work, Sky's instability and lack of customer respect and attention (no huiman able to contact), has breached the service contract I signed, and I simply wish to distance myself from anything SKy cable and find a reputable. working internet service provider

appreciate in advance any information how to formally cancel this horrendous internet service from Sky cable, thank you

@donquixote39 You'll have to speak to Sky, possibly by raising a complaint via the Complaints option in the forum footer in the first instance.

Whether Sky would allow you to cancel depends on the legal situation. They have eight weeks to either resolve or deadlock your complaint. At this point you can go to adjudication to CISAS.

@donquixote39  Sky don't provide a Cable Home service.

Are you referring to Sky Broadband?

In additoon you can find their number on theoir website, you can call on 150 from a Sky Talk Line or Sky Mobile.

If you haven't got a current Sky Mobile or Sky Talk this link should help:
(UK) https://www.sky.com/help/home Scroll down and click on ‘Need more help’ and it provides a 0333 number
(ROI) on the same link change the flag in the very bottom corner to the ROI flag to obtain an 0818 number.

Stay on the line and don’t hang up if prompted to. Apparently the quieter times to ring are just after 7am or about 9pm.

Like you I'm a customer here, Sky Employees are clearly identified as such.

@donquixote39  They do

Click on the need more help drop down at the very bottom of the link below to reveal an 0333 number if your in uk (full numbers aren’t permitted on the forum)

If in ROI using the same link change the flag in bottom right hand corner and refresh the link before following above instructions to reveal an 0818 number

https://www.sky.com/help/home#M1014

or if you have sky mobile/talk call 150 Calls to Sky Customer Services from your Sky Talk landline phone or a Sky mobile are free

The start will be automated which may try to send you here to the forum or suggest you receiving a text. Stay on the line as long as possible and don’t hang up. If necessary say nothing when the automated system asks you what your call is about as it should then route your call into a queue for the next available agent.

@donquixote39

What cable service?

There is definitely a number. To call Sky dial 150 (free) from either a Sky Talk landline or a Sky mobile. Alternatively use this link…
https://www.sky.com/help/home
UK customers: Scroll down and click on ‘Need more help’ leading to a number starting 0333.
ROI customers: change the flag in the bottom right corner of the link to the ROI flag then scroll down and click on ‘Need more help’ to see a dedicated ROI number. (Customer Services in the ROI are not open at weekends).

The forum filters don’t allow the posting of full phone numbers on here.

Calls to Sky will initially be automated which may try to send you here to the forum, offer you online help or offer to send you a text. Stay on the line as long as possible and saying nothing when asked the reason for the call sometimes helps being put in the queue for an agent.

There's a cable television service and ISP of that name in the Philippines.

https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sky_Cable_Corporation

This business is entirely unconnected to Sky UK which is part of Sky Group and a division of the Comcast Corporation, whose forum you've posted to.

@donquixote39

Sky being discussed here is for UK and Republic of Ireland customers only.

@donquixote39 Please explain how Sky have breached the service contract? They do not offer a 100% uptime service, no isp does as that would be impossible to do, if your making that claim due to the lack of updates well that's not a breach, its frustrating but not a breach of service.

If your work is reliant on an internet connection then you really need to look at an appropriate business grade service that offers quicker fault fixing and mobile backup, rather than using a cheap domestic only product(which is what Sky supply).

@daveNOS

I think the references to a monthly plan, no phone support and 'Sky Cable' suggest the OP is in the wrong place by about 11,000Km.

Hi @donquixote39   As Sky UK & Ireland don't provide a Cable Home Internet service, perhaps you could clarify exactly what service you are referring to?

@donquixote39 Not what I said. I said if you raise a complaint they have eight weeks to address the complaint and either resolve the issue or if it's deadlocked it can then be taken to the adjudication service, who would then rule on it.

You can't go straight to this step without Sky being given the chance to solve the problem/complaint first.
