Tricked into new 12 Month contract
Having been a "valued customer " (as the customer service workers keep telling me) for 2 years, I'm coming up to my TV and Broadband renewal (or hopefully cancellation!)
My problem started in September this year when we requested a multiroom box for a new garden room we had built. Existing broadband router required 2 new sky boosters for the multiroom to work.
When initially ordering the multiroom box via Whasapp, I stressed the point that I did not want to enter a new contract, and that I was informed this would not be the case , as I would be reviewing my options in December.
During a trouble shooting call about the booster boxes in October, the Tech assistant offered me (as a valued customer!) an upgrade to HD that would lower my monthly cost. Again I said I did not want to enter a new contract and would only take the offer as long as I could review in December. She assured me in a very heavilly accented that this would not happen, and so I received 7 HD channels ...woo-hoo 🙄
Fast forward to yesterday, when I called to cancel everything and guess what? - TV is now in contract until next October at nearly 2 times the existing cost.
Ive been in touch with customer service and as expected they are telling me I cannot cancel.
I've raised a complaint and waiting to see what happens.......

Re: Tricked into new 12 Month contract
As you have raised a complaint you will have to wait until someone gets back to you as they might need to listen to what was said to you as it could be you were incorrectly advised that you would not be starting a new contract.
Sky has 8 weeks to get back to you or to issue you with a deadlock letter which will allow you to take it further.
If someone has helped you then please click on the LIKES button in their post.
If you need help please provide as much information as you can
