Sky stream + Sky broadband

I joined Sky today, subscribing to both Sky Broadband and Sky TV.

During the sign-up call, the agent (whose name I know but prefer not to disclose) clearly assured me that the total monthly cost for both broadband and TV would be £32. I asked for confirmation multiple times, and this amount was consistently confirmed.

However, upon reviewing my contracts, I noticed a discrepancy:

  • Broadband: £25/month

  • Sky TV: £15/month
    This totals £40/month, not the £32 I was promised. This feels misleading. Has anyone faced this? What are my options?

@Swapnil1 I'd suggest calling Sky back.

Re: Sky stream + Sky broadband

I called them up they mentioned they cant cancel or do anything unless and until the puck device gets delivered. Is it possible for the agent to offer me the sky stream for £7? Can they do that?

@Swapnil1

Are those prices appearing on your bills or an email that you were sent or both ?

@caesarome the broadband is appearing both on email and contract, but nothing on the tv. I just saw online the price seems to be £15 pcm

Theoretically they can offer you any price, though it may require some behind the scenes manual intervention to implement it which can take a few days. Do make a note of the date and time of your calls so that they can retrieve the call recordings to review.

Are you able to see future bills to see what they show (so not just the next one), the reason I mention this is because your first bill will Sky will be higher due to the fact it covers the date from when your services have been activated up until your next bill and beyond so could possibly cover more than the usual 4 weeks,

Usually because it covers a period longer than one month.

I am just another Sky customer and my views are my own even if you don't like the answers

@Swapnil1

As explained the first bill might cover more than the usual 4 weeks hence it being more.

If you want to cancel then you would need to call Sky.

Any items returned to Sky are covered via a freepost service:

Re: Sky stream + Sky broadband

@caesarome  so what do you suggest? Should i wait for the delivery of the puck device and then call and ask them to cancel?

As you signed up today and because you will need to do this anyway I would give Sky a call tomorrow to cancel the puck, if it does turn up then it will be cancelled so you can use the link I posted to print a label to get it returned.
