Received several calls from 'Rebecca' (Asian sounding lady) offering a massive discount on my Sky account from a Bradford landline . Is this a genuine Sky call or a scam?

Posted by a Superuser, not a Sky employee. Find out moreIt's a scam currently doing the rounds I'm afraid. If you answer and the caller asks for your telephone password (which a genuine Sky agent should) give an INCORRECT one on purpose. If the caller doesn't challenge it then you know it'll be a scam caller.

Had a call from an Indian lady offering me a discount for no reason whatsover, called me M'aam not my real name, and when I asked how much I currently pay she couldn't tell me without me giving her my email address. I did start to but could hear her typing it in so I said she obviously wasn't aware of my email address and hung up. The call came from a Bradford landline ending in 4511 and if you look it up they are currently targeting London and the North West no beware...

Typically they are trying to use the lure of a (bogus) discount to gain enough details about the Sky account to place an order with Sky Mobile for expensive hardware, usually iPhones. These are then delivered to the subscription address by Sky, with the criminals attempting to have them 'sent back to rectify the error' to a location under their control.
