However with my end of 18 month indroductory offer and these price increases my bill goes up from £59 a month to £95 , for same service . That is bordering on insane
It's the end of a generous discount and a consequent move to list prices.

Yeah imo this is the way you should look at things.
It's not "my bill has gone up" it's "for the first 18 months I've saved £xxx". They're quite transparent about discounts being new customers only and advertise the list price. But you can also phone and try your luck for a better deal, it can't hurt!

Re: Price hike
Sky is no way too expensive compared to others in the market place.
Their offerings are no longer great, a lot of channels that you never watch and often channels shut down without any reduction or recompoense to the subscriber.
Now over £100 per month.
The world has moved on and SKY no longer represents good value.

That's somewhat subjective. If it's no longer good value for you, then cancel. No drama.

Re: Price hike
I wish it was that simple, having negotiated a godo contract back in December 24, the price hike this week was a whopping 15%.
Although I agree it maybe subjective, it is my personal view that price hikes like these disenfranchise customers and make them question the relative merits and values of this service.
In comparison to others it is very expensive and offers poor value.

Re: Price hike
To Sky's credit , I had an issue with one of my Stream Pucs and spoke to 2 very very good engineers who were amazing, cannot fault them and eventually had the Puc replaced. So I feel at least some of the value was in that side of support.

Re: Price hike
This is exactly how Sky (and others) use their pricing policy and wording to make you feel as though you've been lucky they were so nice to you previously, and it's not really their fault your prices are going up (oh, I'm sorry, I mean "your discounts are ending") and that although they were so generous for the past 18 months, they can't be quite as nice this time - but, hey, they are prepared to give you these other great discounts ("you lucky customer") but just not quite as much as last time.
It really doesn't matter. In simple terms, the reality for me as a customer this week was: "we're putting your prices up by 32%". And that was the best "deal" they were prepared to offer. "But you can leave if you like". So I did. Despite them being so helpful and generous by reducing the 41% increase I was due to pay. I'm such an ungrateful customer.

If it's 15% it's beyond what you agreed in your contract and you can leave.
But the contractual requirement you agreed to for Sky tv is that the increase in list price can't exceed 10% (or the rate of inflation).
