Price hike

Here's the cherry on the cake...to continue the 'excellent service'... a price hike!

I appreciate price increases are annoying, but they are allowed as-per your contract with Sky, and if your minimum term has ended you can try to negociate a better price or leave.

I obviously don't like spending any more money than we did before, but I knew what I was signing up to and it's all allowed as-per the contract I signed with them.

Re: Price hike

How can they justify £2.49 increase in Netfilx premium when its only going up by £1 a month direct with Netflix  according to this https://www.moneysavingexpert.com/news/2025/02/netflix-price-hike/

Sky don't need to justify it. It's simply a price increase. If it's cheaper to pay Netflix direct, that would be the way to go..

That's a good question @Graeme-D. It would be good if Sky was more transparent about how they come to these rises, because things like this just come across as opaque and unintuitive but ultimately they're a business and they probably just want to make more money and have made a bet that the market will tolerate it.

Re: Price hike

Well if they will let me take back my Netflix account as I was happy with a seperate account until they convinced me it would be better to incorporate with my Sky account. Will teach me to not take the bundled options anymore with Sky, already u happy about the Paramount+ lock in. Why cant I hve my email back to have a direct account with Paramount+ and have MY data

I saw it before it was removed. Perhaps it was the thinly disguised bad language you were using. All you need do is comply with the forum rules...

So are you actually paying the same price if you have it via Sky

Directly via Netflix is £18.99 would your Netflix cost that much with Sky?

Re: Price hike

@best+of+the+best

So I just dug into my bills and noticed Sky claim Netflix premium is currently £8 a month, so going up to £10.49 , so might actually still be cheaper, However with my end of  18 month indroductory offer and these price increases my bill goes up from £59 a month to £95 , for same service . That is bordering on insane

Its quite possible that is the size of the increase ( or close to it) that Netflix have pushed on Sky as part of their general price increase.

Re: Price hike

I think the amount of the hike is the issue. I am aware that they can raise prices.

However, the email says ''we know times are tough'' etc... then hit you with an increase in excess of 10%. My TV has gone from £85 to £95. At the same time my products have got worse. Also the level of increase in individual aspects is unjustifiable. Ad skipping (can everything feel the irony) has increase by £1...20%. And it doesn't even work on the things that matter

If that's the case @Richie83 drop the products that you say have got worse or try and haggle a better price.
