Paying £7 per month for Sky Kids which I did not approve - please help!

I've just discovered that I've been paying £7 per month for Sky Kids since November of last year, a service I did not want or request. I've cancelled this going forward but am having trouble claiming back the funds they've already taken (£56).

They are saying I was given Sky Kids for 2 months free (I wasn't aware), which continued thereafter on a paid basis because I did not actively cancel it. Apparently this is their 'standard procedure' and as per their 'terms and conditions' they cannot apply credit or provide a refund.

I will pursue this as it seems unlawful and certainly unfair. I just wondered if anyone has been in a similar position? Any advice welcome. Thanks.

Thanks for getting back to me. That's really disappointing to hear. It doesn't feel right that they can do that to people, especially long term, loyal customers. I'll be sure to lodge a complaint. Cheers.

@EmmaB24

Check your package thoroughly as Kids may not have been the only add-on free for a set period of time.

...but without communication I'm not aware they simply add subs....

It seems quite common following engineer visits.

If it was added without any communication or agreement then I believe there is a case.
