Long story short, I was ordering my mrs a google pixel 9 this morning, while signed into my sky account on which I currently have an iPhone 12. I went through credit checks, then checkout and what not, received three emails including confirmation but "my orders" wasn't displaying any current orders.
Ive just rang to check up on it and it's gone through okay, and he mentioned me being a new customers so I explained I explained I already have a phone with sky. Cutting to the chase, it has ordered the new phone on a brand new account. I never created it, it never asked for any logins, just my email address, which is already where my original account is. He said you can't have two accounts, and to refuse the phone tomorrow. As he was going through the process of ordering it again but under my original account, it failed the credit checks as there's already been an order recently. He said since my iPhone 12 contract only has two payments left, to now accept this phone, but ring up when my iPhone 12 contract is paid up and ask them to merge accounts. I've seen online this apparently cannot be done and I don't know any details for this "new account"
anyone shed any light? Can they be merged? Such a confusing situation I'm 31 but this whole thing has made me feel 71

If you have got two payments left on your iphone then is it an issue for you if this Pixel phone is on a separate login because in two months time this will be the only device you will be paying for going forward.

That's an idea... ditch the original account and get my upgrade on this new one...
But will it be discoverable/accessable for a sky employee considering I don't know any login details relating to it? I can provide bank details, name & dob, home address details etc.

Has any emails come through about this new order, if not you might have to call them to find out what the account details are.

They have and funnily enough it's to the email my original account is on. It makes no sense, didn't ask me to create a new log in, just the email address, so when I log in with it it just shows my original account, with iPhone 12, but no recent google pixel 9 order. I got three emails when I first made the order, now I have a email from the DPD saying they've got my parcel. On one of the emails it mentions logging in with sky id, linking one to a mobile account or creating a new one. When I press link it says "account already linked"

Thanks mate, I should've realised and asked on the phone today, I'll call back tomorrow. I've found another thread where some people had the exact issue, logged in, placed an order for a new phone then found out it had went through with a new account number. 99% positive I was logged in but it seems like a glitch, thought I was going crazy
