Re: Loss of Eurosport

I'm not leaving for another provider, I'll watch it online on Discovery + , see European football and some Premiere league and save £80 per month. Win Win.

Hi @cct317 Don't you need Discovery+ Premium at £30.99 a month for Eurosport?

Re: Loss of Eurosport

Regarding the discount price for TNT Sports from the research that I have done you can get TNT Sports for as low as £16.50 a month and they offer sports packages from £7 a month.  Why can't Sky do this?  They pay ridiculous amounts of money for the rights to Premier league football which I am not bothered about at all but I can't help feeling that their price increases cover this and other sports even if you don't watch them.  I may be wrong but I cannot see how a price increase of £3.50 a month for Sky signature is possibly justified.

Re: Loss of Eurosport

I forgot to say that £16.50 for TNT Sports and the sports packages from £7 a month were from Virgin.

I may be wrong here but I'm sure when I looked recently I found that Virgin Media don't provide Discovery+ access with their TNT package where as Sky does. Now arguably it might make sense to offer an option with and without but I think that's where the price discrepancy comes from.

Re: Loss of Eurosport

£110 a month is not cheap by any means.  A lot of people couldn't afford a price like that and you are still expected to pay £29 a month to watch sports that were previously free to view.  Also the first thing that I knew about Eurosport leaving Sky was yesterday which as far as I am concerned is pretty shoddy service from Sky who are supposed to care so much about there existing customers.

Re: Loss of Eurosport

What I don't like about sky is I've had no notifications about Eurosport going to TNT. Only by watching the cycling  I learnt about it. What I'm annoyed about is I don't want all the TNT channels as we only ever watch cycling a snooker. Outrages prices for sky sport  and TNT sports. I've been with sky along time but when my contract is up in May I shan't renew it.

@AJO1963  It's not up to Sky to tell you, it's down to the channel owners (Warner Brothers Discovery) to make the info available, however there is an very extensive thread here since 28th January discussing the iminent closure.

Why have Sky removed Eurosport 1 and 2 from my Subscription ,I didn't realise until this morning when I turned on to watch it ,it was nice of them to warn us,we have lost 2 Sports channels but are expected to pay the same subscription, This is the final straw for me my contact is up in April so I will be leaving 😡

@Dave66

The channel owners Warner Brothers Discovery removed it from all UK and ROI platforms. Not a Sky decision.

Discussed here

I'm pretty sure it's been quite prevalent on the Eurosport content over the last few weeks that the content was moving over to their sister channel TNT Sports.

I know from watching TNT Sports you couldn't watch it for more than an hour without reference being made to all the content from Eurosport now coming to TNT Sports including Tennis grand slams and the olympics.

Re: Loss of Eurosport

A lot of people seem to think that it is not up to Sky to inform people of the loss of channels.  This is what I personally think.  At the end of the day it is Sky that people are paying for their service so it should be up to Sky to keep their customers informed of upcoming changes which they quite clearly do not do as has been shown by some of the posts here.  To expect people to pay £29 a month to watch sports which were previously free to view is a total rip off and I think it is not just Warner Brothers to blame.  Why can't Sky offer discounts the same as Virgin do?

Sure, but contractually they are not obliged to do so.

Call Sky and have a moan - they have been reports of people negotiating out of a minimum term.
