I need to transfer my sky account to my room mate

I currently manage the sky bill in my flat share and I'm moving out next week, so i need to transfer my account to my room mate Hannah so she can take over the bills for the forseeable. Is this possible? Or do we need to close the account and then have Hannah open a brand new one? Does that mean they send us a new sky box? Seems quite wasteful. I've been trying to talk to a human on Sky for ages, but I can't seem to get through to one!

@Neve_R You will have to cancel and then your roommate will have to join as a new customer.

Sky will request the return of any current Sky Q equipment and then reissue equipment when your roommate signs up.

Hi @Neve_R   That is correct. You cannot simply transfer your account because Hannah will have to pass the credit checks etc.

I'm afraid not Sky don't allow transfer of ownership.

Yes. That may mean a period without a service, unfortunately.

Yes, it may do

 

Seems quite wasteful.

You may be asked to return the old one.

But it should mean that they qualify for new subscriber rates, which are typically a substantial discount.
