Help to cancel Sky Sports add on
I had a TV and Broadband account with Virgin Media which included a Sky Sports add on subscription. I closed the VM account in December 2025 yet I'm still being billed by VM for the Sky Sports package. When I asked them about this they have told me I need to contact Sky directly - I've had no luck with the online chat so now trying this way. To make things more complicated I am now a Sky customer and receive Sky Sports as part of my package with Sky too.

Re: Help to cancel Sky Sports add on
Virgin Media have wrongly informed you as Sky can not cancel TV packages with a different company, they can only do this with Broadband and Talk via the switching service but this does not cover any TV packages.

Re: Help to cancel Sky Sports add on
@Helen-saints If you are still being billed by virgin media for something then it's them you need to be pursuing
sky cannot cancel another provider's tv service for you (this only applies to broadband via the one touch switch service)

Re: Help to cancel Sky Sports add on
I've had multiple conversations with VM via their chat since January onwards (I'm being billed for the Sky Sports add on each month, despite not being a VM customer anymore). They say they can't cancel it - it has to be Sky. I'm slightly losing the plot, being passed from pillar to post and not able to actually talk to someone 😞

Re: Help to cancel Sky Sports add on
Sadly there is nothing we or even Sky can do for you to get it cancelled so you might want to find out how to put in a complaint and let it go from there.

How to make a complaint via post
You can send your complaint by post to: Virgin Media, Sunderland, SR 43 4 AA Complaining by post isn’t as quick, but we promise to acknowledge your complaint within 48 hours of receipt and aim to resolve any your issue within 28 days.
Or try:-

Re: Help to cancel Sky Sports add on
I need someone from Sky to contact me directly. Virgin Media are insisting that the Sky Sports Flex add on service that I had as part of my VM TV package hasn't been terminated properly at source. I've cancelled it at the VM end but somewhere 'the system' still thinks Sky are supplying Sky Sports to me and it's causing an ongoing charge to be applied.
I don't know, but I wonder if the glitch has occurred because in the meantime I am now a Sky customer and have Sky Sports as part of my package?

Re: Help to cancel Sky Sports add on
I would suggest putting in a complaint via Virgin because as explaiend earlier no matter what they have told you, Sky can not cancel any TV package with Virgin and you haveing a sports package with Sky will not mean you can not cancel with Virgin.
Have a look at Ofcom's website here:
https://www.ofcom.org.uk/phones-and-broadband/switching-provider/simpler-broadband-switching-is-here
The key bit is this:
Under the new One Touch Switch process, landline and broadband customers only need to contact their new provider to make the change.
You will see it makes no mention of TV.
