So I sent in a complaint almost 30 days ago, in that time I've received two emails saying someone will be in touch.
Sent complaint - 10,days later someone will be in touch - 20 days later second email from them with same nonsense.
I've tried phoning but the outsourced centre doesn't understand basic English and trying to decipher the accent being spoken back is behind my area of expertise.
I'm sick of it now, I'm done waiting around for Sky to get their act together.
My question is how can I escalate this complqimt bypassing Sky?
Do I go straight to the ombudsman?
See,s Sky's entire setup is strategically designed to make the person complaining surrender.
I'm at an age where my credit score doesn't concern me in the slightest, my house is mine, my cars are mine, I've no requirement for any kind of credit whatsoever so me simply cancelling and saying goodbye Sky won't affect me in the slightest - that is my next move should Sky not engage.

@SatchPlays You can't go to the ombudsman without sky issuing you a deadlock letter, sky have 8 weeks to respond from the date of original complaint to try and resolve it before issuing it

You can't bypass the Sky process.
Sky have up to 8 weeks to resolve it or you can then request a deadlock letter allowing you to take it further.

Details here: https://www.sky.com/help/articles/alternative-dispute-resolution-financial-ombudsman-service
If you'd like to give some detail about you're issue we'll provide feedback...
Cancelling payment methods (I think you're hinting at this) will not cancel your account. Whilst you may not care about your credit file recovery activities will commence if you withhold payment.

Re: Frustrated , annoyed , almost defeated
Thanks for clarification on that, only 4 more weeks then and I'm done.

Re: Frustrated , annoyed , almost defeated
Trust me there's no chance Sky will be collecting anything at all after their circus show of inadequacies and incompetencies.
If I decide to cancel my payment method to Sky - that's it, they'll not be getting a penny from me, of that you have my 100% guarantee.
What next ? Threaten me with the TV license fee van ? Ha ha

Re: Frustrated , annoyed , almost defeated
So your complaint is still ongoing ~ potentially for a few weeks yet.
As much as you think it's the way forward, cancelling the payment method is definitely not recommended and it will cause additional problems.
- relevant services will be restricted,
- you won't be able to call Sky,
- the account can't be cancelled,
- late payment fees will be added (hitting your pocket further)
- and eventually Sky could involve a debt recovery company

Re: Frustrated , annoyed , almost defeated
You seem to think any of that is relevant to me, I can assure you it's not.
If Sky refuse to sort their mess out then I'll cancel and they won't get a penny.
relevant services will be restricted - and?
you won't be able to call Sky - incorrect, I most certainly will.
the account can't be cancelled - the account will sit there unpaid if Sky don't pull their finger out.
late payment fees will be added (hitting your pocket further) - I've already said there won't be any payment from me at all!
and eventually Sky could involve a debt recovery comp - wipeee because I've never had to deal with one of them before.

Unless you want to give more details then the correct advice has been given. You are of course welcome to ignore it.
I'll request the thread be closed.

I guess @SatchPlays is just going to have to learn the hard way...
Some people just don't help themselves at all

Unfortunately people come on here for advice and when it's against what they believe is correct they choose to ignore it. So be it.

Re: Frustrated , annoyed , almost defeated
I've already proven the "advice" you've given is not at all correct.
My point is that Sky are failing to deal with the issues I've reported, they've failed to actually reply with a solution on two occasions and instead asked I wait even longer.
Unless you can access my account [removed] I've posted here as I know sky employees (the people who can actually help) can and do message people with issues and things get resolved.
[removed]
I'm not looking for tips on how to use equipment or how to use a certain feature, this is account related and NOT somethign some random stranger on an internet forum has the ability to help with, [removed]

So much of the above post is incorrect but I won't bother to comment on it further. Everyone who has given advice here is trying to help you. You presumably came on here for advice. The correct advice has been provided and you've even marked a post as answering your issue so let's leave it at that. I've also requested that the thread be closed as you're now just trying to provoke an argument.
