FREE Sky rewards
I've sent this message to sky but as per usual haven't heard a word back.
Has anyone else encountered this ? It was supposed to be a " FREE " Gift because of over billing or being a loyal customer ( previously ) on sky mobile..
In regards to your offer of a Samsung tab S11 in the form of compensation, I would like to know why I have to pay an upfront cost.

Re: FREE Sky rewards
@DJP8128 How was this free offer made to you? Did you receive a phone call from someone saying they were with sky
if you did receive a phone call without initially contacting sky yourself first it's highly likely to be fraudsters trying to obtain enough information to hack your account
did you give out any personal information such as passwords etc

Re: FREE Sky rewards
@DJP8128 almost certainly this wasn't Sky. Sounds like someone trying to scam you.

Re: FREE Sky rewards
Many thanks for all the replies.
The initial contact was via email, and not a phone call. Normally I bin the emails from sky, but as this one was from sky mobile, I opened it.
No passwords were exchanged and I forwarded the email onto sky, but as per usual no response.
Hopefully I've attached the email, so if anyone else gets one, you'll know.. I've obviously blurred out my name, in case.

Re: FREE Sky rewards
@DJP8128 It's not clear from the image (which has been removed as it contains personal details) but is there a link on that email for you to accept the offer? have they used your name?
It's unlikely Sky would send such a freebie.

Re: FREE Sky rewards
Yes, my name was on it, and obviously the original email goes on longer.
The more sky ignore my complaint to them, the more convinced this a clever scam, even though all the correct sky details were there, not my old account number, or phone number, which did raise a red flag, because they'd still have that in their files.
But hopefully no one has fallen for this....

@DJP8128 the fact it wasn't your address is irrelevant a persons email address was publicly viewable

Re: FREE Sky rewards
@DJP8128 In my opinion its a fake email with a ludicrous offer, Sky are not going to give you a £1000+ tablet free for any reason.

@DJP8128 I agree with @daveNOS don't be suprised if you suddenly receive this in the post.
Have you ensured you've changed your Sky account password as per the guidance here https://www.sky.com/help/articles/account-takeover

Another good indicator its a fake email, is in the small print at the bottom its references the year as 2024. Whilst its possible emails sent in early January may happen to contain the previous year's date, i'd be surprised if any official communications from a big company was sending out emails containing the incorrect year ( particularly with it being a couple of years out).
