Hi All, I would like to understand why am i paying £105 for sky tv and broadband, when I get offered the same deal as a new customer for £41 for TV and Broadband inclusive? I haven't used this service before, is there a contact number (or automated system) from which I can get this new price? I am out of contract since January.

New customer deal is just that for new customers. You could call sky and see what discounts you may get

Re: Excessive cost for services
No, because you aren't a new customer.
New customers are offered good discounts as an incentive to join. Most companies do this now. You probably took advantage of such a new customer deal when you first joined Sky.
If you can't negotiate an acceptable price for renewing then perhaps consider a move to an alternative provider, but when that deal nears its end you'll be in the same position with them, and will be able to rejoin Sky if you wish and take up any new customer deals available at that time.
Comcast do appear to prioritise getting new customers over retaining long standing ones. As other providers do this too it seems to be a common theme.

Re: Excessive cost for services
Hi @Biggy1 It is very simple, all service providers (not just Sky) offer loss leading pricing to attract new customers. They have already had your money.

If you are out of contract you are paying the full list price in a rolling monthly contract and the most expensive Sky contract to have. If contract Sky you can probably get lower montly amount on new minimum term. However as a,ready mention in other post don't expect the a discount price that you see for a couple reasons. First as stated Sky intice ew customer with loss making deals which unfortunately are not available to exsisting customers like us. Also I don't know if your present tv package is Sky Q or Sky stream, but if you are looking on line you are only seeing new deals for Sky stream which is cheaper platform than Sky Q even at full price. Sky Q is only valuable on request these days for new customers over the phone and those new customer deals are not shown on line. Therefore if you have Sky Q and looking at the deals on line you not seeing a like for like.
so give Sky a ring and see what they can offer you but bear in mind just like new customers any discount offer are usually subject to new 24 month minimum term.
Also if you want to reduce your monthly cost futher you could consider staying with Sky for your tv package and consider changing to another provider for your broadband, Therefore as a new customer to them you will have a low new customer price. And changing ing broadband is dead easy with most providers it can be done on line. And with one switch option you. Just sign up with your new provider and they take care of everything thing, you don't even have to contact Sky to cancel there service, that is taken care off in most case by your new provider I the switching over process. Apart from your new provider supplying you with therefore broadband hub the change over is seamless on the day of change over when you Sky broadband stops, just replace your old Sky hub with the new one suppled by you new provider and you will be up and running with broadband fro your new provider.
sky should also send you packaging to return there one when there service stops.

Re: Excessive cost for services
Thank you everyone, absolutely as I suspected. I'll switch to another provider for both broadband and TV. Cheers!
