Cancelling during a contract

I have been offered a 24 month new contract via my oline account but am elderly and am concerned that I may not now remain in my house for that length of time. I may move to a residential home or in with a relative. If so, I may not need a Sky subscription of my own any more.

The discount I have been offered is £5 per month for the 24 month contract but any cancellation penalty could be significantly more than any saving from this discount.

I've read the Ts&Cs and tried both ringing (no answer for half an hour) and the chat bot (cannot understand my question) to try to clarify. Can anyone clarify what the cancellation penalty would be in this scenario?

Thanks

@VEH

This link explains early termination fees as basically you could be asked to pay the remainder of the contract off in full:

@VEH  The latest terms and conditions explicitly state you can't cancel unless sky agrees to it

if they do you are liable to pay the remaining months, so that's monthly cost times the number of months left

Re: Cancelling during a contract

Thanks to both repliers, much appreciated and that's what I thought. I'm best not comitting to a 24m contract in that case to retain the flexibility to cancel at any time.
