Hi there.
After receiving the price increase email, my wife and I have decided to completely finish with sky. My 31 days is April 14th but can I phone earlier and "precancel", to just get it out of the way?
Many thanks

My experience is they'll tell you to call back on that date.

Posted by a Superuser, not a Sky employee. Find out moreIn the past it hasn't been possible to give notice in advance. I don't know if that's still the case. I can only suggest giving Sky a call to check.

you can't cancel tv service if in a minimum term contract unless sky agrees to allow you to do so
for broadband you can cancel anytime within 31 days of receiving notification of increase

I wanted to do this last year but was told I'd have to call back on the exact date (31 days prior to my contract ending). Seems silly to me as I work away and that wasn't convenient for me but in the end they gave me a call back and better deal and I recontracted which cancelled out the price rises.
Due to my price increase email I recieved yesterday I have just cancelled products I do not use and informed them I'm switching BB provider due to price rise and therefore will not incur any fee. These changes mean I have cancelled out the excessive 13% rises that would come my way in April.
Good luck!

My TV contract is up on 15th may. Am definitely cancelling on 14th April, just wondered if I can give advance notice. Don't want to quit early, just give my notice more than 31 days before.

Thanks for your input, I'll wait til 14th of April, seems to be the best option.

Give them a call and see what they say. You may get told to call back on that date or may be offered a better deal like I was.
I called earlier today and got to speak to someone straight away.

I recently cancelled - my last contractual date is 9th May, but they accepted before the 31 day notice, and put a pre-cancel flag on my account. It will cancel on 9th May. The pre-cancel notice shows on my account.
During this pre-cancel period, you can't make any changes to your account.

Mine was cancelled before the 31 days, I did it around a week early. The guy had to fiddle around a little to apply it but wasn't any trouble!
