Call centre asks for password

Recently I have contacted Sky twice and been asked to tell them my password. I thus assume that the call handler can see my complete password which is a very poor security system. With other companies I have always been asked for random letters of my password or security number. Why is Sky using this system, I don't remember doing this in the past?

This is your telephone password which you've set up so the agent can verify you are the account holder or speaking on the account holders behalf.

it's not your online account password - it's a telephone password only.

I am just another Sky customer and my views are my own even if you don't like the answers

Call Sky. When asked for the password state you've forgotten it. Sky will be able to verify your identity by other means and will set up a new telephone password with you.
