Sky+ box viewing card error

On Sky+ I have the message 'viewing card not authorised, insert new viewing card'. The only information I can find on this is linked to an upgrade to Sky Q which I have not requested and do not want. Turned the box off and back on, no difference. Tried taking the card out, giving it a clean and put it back but no joy. Anyone have any ideas ?

I have the same problem. Its going on a while. At first it was just hard disk error and now it's viewing card problem. I think Sky are doing it on purpose to push me to upgrade. I have 2 boxes. This is the main one.

No they are not 🙄 If Sky wanted to force people to upgrade they would not do it covertly as OFCOM would not be amused and most likely heavily fine them

 

Sky+ boxes are getting on a bit and will fail sooner than later due to their age

Do you work for Sky? A lot of people have the same issue
