hi @Paul1111

I think Disney + will only play UHD in HDR and thus needs to be 10 bit

The TV app will play in HDR if you TV is capable

Regarding the UHD films - do they alo have the HDR logo against them  ? (although I din;t think it would let you download when set to 8bit)

Is the reason for being 8 bit due to the screen darkening with SKY's HDR or some other reason ?

You need to change your hdmi port to enhanced for the tv to recognise 10 bit content via the Sky Q box. May I also add what a fantastic tv you have chosen as well @Paul1111

Re: Ultra hd

Ironically I found my TV does a better job of upscaling than the Sky Q box, so set to 1080i (1080p is upscaled from the syq Q box too) My Sony A90J Oled TV does a much better job without so many artifacts and the picture and main menu looses that soft look and is sharp as a pin, then again I'm not surprised, any semi decent TV these days will upscale better than the Sky Q box I believe.

Damned if you do, damned if you dont

But you don't get UHD or HDR out of the Q if you do that

Re: Ultra hd

Thank you I have changed the hdmi settings to full and then the sky box excepted the 10 bit.

now I have the ultra hd logo on all sky apps running off sky and sky cinema.

Re: Ultra hd

I get better HDR and UHD from the apps built into my TV and since all the apps I use are on my TV anyway I find it better that way. Skys upscaling is awful compared with my TV which cost (two years ago) £2600.

Yes, always always use the native TV apps if you have them!

hi @ZainUAH

I think the setting on Sony TVs is usually to set the HDMI to enhanced - I am sorry I am not sure exactly where it would be set
