Re: Tennis Coverage

Totally agree.

The lack of on deman service is fairly poor.

Not difficult.

If sky can't be bothered offering the service let tennis tv do it!

Re: Tennis Coverage

Can't stay up and watch matches all night..

Today as an example.

Can't see the Iga Swiatek match, can't see the Ben Shelton match, can't see Pasolini, Sabalenka, Alcaraz, Brooksby, Fernandez and so on.

Instead we get Boulter - which I watched live as it was daytime here, Kvartal also a day match!

Really bad next day replay day today!

It's pathetic!

The Wishlist thing has NOT worked once! Not once.

It actually deletes what you put in it!

Re: Tennis Coverage

My point is Sky Sports, that all your competitions seem to do the replay thing very well! Matches are there probably and in full.

Why can't you improve?

Re: Tennis Coverage

I'm so frustrated with your service I can't type properly!

Your competitors are making all the  matches for replay / on demand available PROMPTLY!

@Tennisway  You do know you're asking other customers these question on a customer led community and that you're not actually contacting Sky directly?

Like you I'm a customer here, Sky Employees are clearly identified as such.

Re: Tennis Coverage

I suppose now that the US Open is about to start, will the on demand service be any better? I'm personally dreading it as I watch on NOW so I can already see it's taking 24 to 48 hours for limited replays to appear. There is no logical sequence to them either, just random in the Tennis catch up rail?

I would happily pay for the TNT coverage as I do for AO and RG as it's amazing: all matches, by event  watch from start, on demand, simply add to your own playlist so you can watch in the day if it's a night match or conflicts with another match.

We in the UK have no choice but to watch the US open on Sky or NOW but they make no attempt to make it a remotely comparable viewer experience. Why did Sky take it on if they can't provide the same service. Please give it to TNT who know how to do the job!!

Re: Tennis Coverage

I have no issue with Sky's coverage in itself as in the presenters, but it's just the viewer experience compared to other Grand slams. In the 3 years that Sky have had the US open it has not significantly improved in how viewers access content.

Re: Tennis Coverage

I too haven't seen ANY improvement in the replay coverage or presentation of the match choices.

Sky is providing coverage of a sporting event that runs far into the UK night and early morning.

It cannot expect us to stay up all night to watch the matches we want to see.

The 1st day for example.

I would want watch the Djokovic match.

It starts at 23.55 stated time.

These are best of 5 set matches.

I would want watch the Stan Warwrinka match (wee small hours).

I would want to watch the Arthur Fils match. Also wee small hours.

I could do that waking up at  say 7am onwards with TNT sports coverage of the Australian Open and French Open. I could do it with the BBCs coverage of Wimbledon (iPlayer is excellent) -: every played match on Replay!

With Sky Sports I will NOT be able to do so.

I expect like last year they will do some replays of the British players getting hammered early rounds!

Carry on doing that until they are all knocked out..

It's very frustrating and poor value for money!

But they don't listen.

Their mainly live sports only system with a few sparing replays doesn't suit tennis at all!

The claim that Sky have made WTA tennis more popular is hollow.

Of course it's more popular now! There was zero easy access coverage before, unless you subbed to the quirky and little known WTATV online service.

Also, the cost to get 1080p coverage, have to buy 'boost' on NowTV and still be fed mind numbing adverts is truly poor!

Re: Tennis Coverage

I totally agree, and it's not just missing the matches that are in the early hours. When we have so many matches on in the first week, and I personally have lots of favourite players i want to watch, I simply can't watch them all with Sky.

With TNT you can set up a watchlist and add all the matches you want to see. Then they are there to watch when you want. All of the events are categorised separately, easy to find, GB players separately shown .Sky doesn't do anything different for their GS coverage, and now we have to suffer this until 2030. Very sad for British tennis fans.

Oh yes, and even with the live matches, Sky can't be bothered to update the match start times on the court feeds so when matches overrun, which they invariably do, no-one even bothers to update the court start times of subsequent matches. It's just plain laziness all round. Thanks Sky!!

Re: Tennis Coverage

I will not be paying £35 to Now Tv for their abysmal coverage. They will only show a maximum of 3 matches on replay and that is only after 48 hours . So it's no point even watching on catch up as the tournament will be 2 days ahead already and results widely known. And they only include British players matches in the catch up untill they lose, and after that just any random match they feel like . Almost never offer the marquee night matches on replay and anyway it will be a 48 hour delay. The worst tennis coverage anywhere in the world

Re: Tennis Coverage

Just out of interest, since I only watch on NOW, is having Sky any better for catch up?  I realise you can record the linear channels of course but I just wonder if the number of replays is more on Sky itself?

I did have Sky stream a couple of years ago but cancelled it as it wasn't any better, you couldn't "watchlist" any future matches, for example, so I assume it hasn't got any better since then?

Re: Tennis Coverage

@Ali810

Believe me, if there was an alternative, I wouldn't pay it either but I do love my tennis and in the UK we have no choice but to watch on Sky, sadly.
