Rightly or wrongly...I though if you were with Sky and had the Sport Package you could select any Premier game being played....not just the Main Event or Sky Football game ! I had heard of Red Button action but unsure how this operates or if I have this option, Help is appreciated. John

Posted by a Superuser, not a Sky employee. Find out more@john+bem the broadcast contracts for the elf and premier league although both held by sky are separate and contain different rights
out of the 380 games per premier league season sky can only show 128 of them

Hi @john+bem you will only be able to watch the premier league game scheduled for broadcast on the SKY Sports channel live.
Highlights of other matches will be broadcast later in the evening, and using the red button feature you would be able to view/record different matches.

Hi @john+bem
Afraid Sky don't have rights to all Premiership matches.
There is not often a red button choice for Premier league games.
However there sometimes is for EFL games.

Thanks...didn't realise that. Knew my local pub could get Forest games (on a Red Button) when they were in the lower division. How would one know if more than one Premier game was available to the Red Button ? all help appreciated. John

When Forest were in the Championship selected midweek games (and a few Sunday ones) were available via the red button that they were not selected by Sky to be broadcast. Now that Forest is in the Premiership you will no longer have the red button option as this only happens for teams in the Championship.

For the PL alone you'd need to be paying Sky, BT and Amazon (although all three could be viewed through a Sky Q box): that's a legacy of the last time the PL auctioned-off the UK television rights when the 200 match fixture list was split into 'packages' with the intention that no one distributor could secure them all and so become a monopoly provider.
