Re: Sky One
Recent cancellations/shows ending has made the situation worse imo
Could be nothing, but I wonder if this is hinting at Sky One coming back ?

Intellectual property, plus I don't think sky or comcast want a less than scrupulous company finding the address free and buying it and filling it with bad content.
Either the person posting on digital spy is sky employee breaking nda or just a person being mischievous.
I'd rather base stuff on confirmation, then trying to guess.

This is actually a very common practise. They have done it with
- Sky One (SkyOne.co.uk), closed 1 September 2021, replaced by Sky Showcase (channel), Sky Max (content)
- Sky Travel (SkyTravel.co.uk), closed 24.June 2010
- Virgin 1/Channel One (ChannelOne.co.uk and Virgin1.co.uk), closed 3 September 2010
- Sky Real Lives (SkyRealLives.co.uk), closed 19 August 2010, replaced by Sky Living
- Sky Living (SkyLiving.co.uk), closed 6 August 2018, replaced by Sky Witness
There all have expiry dates in 2026/7. They just renew it to keep the Sky the legal owner of the channel's websites to avoid the likes of phishing and fraud.
It's not only with Sky channels with some examples:
- Bravo.co.uk
- Trouble.co.uk
- 4Music.co.uk
- UKTVGold.co.uk (redirects to UAndGold.co.uk)

Re: Sky One
Sky Comedy demise by the time HBO Max launches looks like very likely now, the main non HBO show on Sky Comedy - The Office U.S is shown on Sky Max from 24th August with The Paper airing from 5th September on Sky Max

Re: Sky One
The latest rumour is it's coming back in January possibly as a rebrand of Sky Max (maybe it's beefed with new/current Sky Original drama?)
Sky for some reason have removed all their pay entertainment channels logos and Sky Cinema from updated Sky Group website

Re: Sky One
Several of Sky Original comedy programming on Sky Comedy has been changed to expire on 12th January (you can tell as some have only partially changed for now)
Waiting to see if happens with other programming
Suggests something is happening on 13th January, the poster on DS did also say the Sky Entertainment refresh and channel line up changes in mid January.

Re: Sky One
At this point, I'm not sure that even nostalgia-baiting us can save "new Sky" from its fate. That being said, it will be good to see it return. Looking forward to seeing what idents they go with.

These days there's just a little bit more competition for eyeballs than there was back in 1989 ; )
