Why do Sky keep taking channels away from us, I know sometimes we get one or two added every now & again, but it always seems more disappear than are added. Funny though, that my monthly bill remains the same!! It would be nice to at least be notified when channels go AWOL.

You would probably need to go back a few months to find out when Sky notified us of the removal of the +1 channels.

These were removed a while ago. Up until recently it was just Sky Premiere that had +1 but that went too.

Daniel 0210. It was only just this afty that I noticed, when I went to record a film on Sky Cinema Hits plus 1, on 493 for tonight & it wasn't there ☹️
As it is still advertised in the TV book as being there, maybe this is a ploy to get us to up our subscription to a Sky Glass or something??

Daniel 0210. Apologies should have been 403. Fat fingers, small keyboard 😂 is my excuse.

Your thread title mentions Cinema +1 channels. Channel 403 is Sky Football HD. If you mean 303, that wouldn't have been a +1 channel.

Sky isn't responsible for third party television listings not keeping up with changes.
Realistically it was costing a significant amount of money to broadcast duplicate content on +1 service to an increasingly small audience (almost all of whom have boxes capable of recording) : Sky pays the satellite owners for data transit.

Sorry folks. My error, Sky Cinema Hits is not in TV book as having a plus 1. I mis-read the information relating to some other TV service. That'll teach me to react too quickly in future ! I'm off to have a lie down in a dark room 😄
Sorry for wasting your time people.
Have a good day.

There are no +1 channels at all on Sky Glass/Stream. For many years the only Sky Cinema channel to have a +1 has been Sky Premiere, but that recently closed. There has never been a Sky Cinema Hits +1 on 493 (that is the Sport section in the UK, are you a UK customer?).

Also, Sky don't have to provide what channel changes are happening. I don't think other providers do.

Driving me mad all the channels theyre removing, specially when u have to pay extra for the sky cinema channels aswell, i always went to plus 1 premiere channel as it gave me a chance to get stuff done first. Sky cinema dont feel worth paying for anymore, or sky tv at that, half the movie channels have gone since i first joined, majority of the music channels, may change to EE, theyre broadbands suppose to be much better too

As noted above, Sky is not removing channels. If the owners of non-Sky brand products choose to no longer have satellite distribution (as Channel 4 did recently with its music output) then there's nothing Sky as the platform provider can do about that.

Unfortunately, Sky Cinema Premiere +1 is no longer worth it for Sky. I would suspect only a handful of people were watching it. The movies on Sky Cinema Premiere (and all the other cinema channels) are available on-demand, so if you miss the start of a movie on Sky Cinema Premiere, you can just go on-demand and watch it. So while the +1 channel has disappeared, the content has not.
As for switching, I would advise you to "shop around" and look at forums online about providers and what they offer and gauge the best option for you.
