@MRCHIPS without seeing it myself that offer is likely for new customers taking up sky glass or stream which doesn't record in the conventional sense but instead adds programs to playlists

I assume you are referring to Sky Essential TV (Free to air channels + Sky Atlantic, Sky Sports News, Sky Sports Mix , Sky Sports Racing, Discovery Pay channels and Netflix standard with ads), so mostly no , only cloud records if the channel doesn't have Catch Up or On Demand service.
What it will do if it is on catch up or on demand through the apps it will add it to your playlist and will link it directly and play straight from the apps without you having to go in and find it.

Also be aware that some content shown on some Sky channels (such as movies) cannot be cloud recorded or viewed later without an additional subscription. You will be prompted to add Sky Cinema to your package or switch to Ultimate TV for an additional monthly fee if you try to watch such content at a later date. You either have to watch live (and suffer ads) or pay more.
