Until last week I got EastEnders in the morning on the day it airs and BBc Scotland both episodes of River City on Monday morning. I haven't been able to do it this week. Does anyone know why?
Thanks 😊

Posted by a Superuser, not a Sky employee. Find out moreDuring the period of the Olympic Games both BBC and ITV put their main soaps for that day on their respective OnDemand services from early morning.
The Olympic Games have now ended and so the early releases have too.

That is true for the ITV soaps but Eastenders has been released early on iPlayer on a permanent basis since the 2022 World Cup.

Although I see the same report back in July - so it does not always seem to be at a fixed time.

Have you tried the BBC iPlayer app on your device?
Some broadcasters are preferring to put their content on the app instead of on-demand.

- occasionally bbc hold back the release of it until after broadcast. This is if it is a bit climatic of an episode so to avoid spoilers
- they may also hold it back for last minute topical edits (they did so after the euros football final so they could refer to the result in it or the person in charge of uploading it, was in pub all night. Not sure which)
