I wonder what the new Sky Puck streaming box quality is like compaired to Sky Q? Having Dolby Vision is a plus but complicated with the cost of fees that come with the packages at the moment.
Thank you for the detail in your reply 😉

You don't get House of the Dragon in Dolby Vision on Sky Stream, you get the same HLG transfer that's available on Q. It's only the third party apps which will output Dolby Vision (Netflix/Prime/Apple TV+/Disney+)
I'd say the Sky UHD content I've watched via Stream is perhaps a tad cleaner and sharper than via my old V3 Q box, due probably to using newer hardware. I'd also go so far as to say that the HLG content is a tad brighter than via Q. This is using the same HLG HDR settings that I'd used for both devices.
It's a shame in a way that the Stream UI is a bit clunky and everything is just a bit slower than with Q, as the actual UHD image quality is good. It's just getting to it that's somewhat painful.

I would say this is true couple of times now I've clicked to watch House of Dragon in UHD and it's been the HD stream which makes no sense but got out and gone back in and it's been the UHD one.

So, HOTD ep10 dropped early on Sky (because of the leak??).
My box has automatically downloaded the UHD HDR (according to Sky) version which of course is totally unwatchable.
So annoyed that Sky have messed the HDR representtation of this ENTIRE series from start to finish.
What are the chances theyll sort it out by 2024 - slim to none, and slim just left town...

For those using Samsung, I set my TV to game mode, the image doesn't seem as sharp, perhaps even ever so slightly noisy, but the blue shadows are gone. Watching E7 in UHD HDR

Just purchased a Samsung QN90B and have a Sky Puck. We're a few eposiodes in on House of the Dragon and the purple/black haze is driving us nuts. Episode 3 in UHD HDR was completely unwatachable.
Did anyone mange to find a solution to this? (I was about to return the TV but other content seems absolutely fine).
Cheers

Watch the standard UHD version.
The grade on House of the Dragon is so ridiculously dark that even the Dolby Vision stream direct from HBO Max doesn't look that much better. The SDR UHD version will at least make it watchable. If you like that kind of thing.

We watched it like that last night and it was certainly an improvement in PQ, although the style of the different directors varies so much that it's quite difficult to compare episodes.
And, at literally the last minute, after ten hours of screen-time, something actually happened...

This actually happens on all Sky UDH HDR content. I have tried several movies and it starts immediately.
Interestingly, when I load the Netflix app via the Sky Puck and play HDR content - no problems whatsoever....
How has it come to this Sky??

Find out moreMaybe i'm a bit out of date with pricing but just seen how much HBO want for the Season in 4K on Blu-ray £40 for the normal version and £50 for the Steelbook that seems a lot to me. I only paid £120 for Complete Game of Thrones in 4K from HMV couple of months back.

I'd suggest that's not particularly unusual pricing for a 4-disk set of a brand new 'premium' series: the first two GoT seasons are now over a decade old and the youngest was originally broadcast three years ago.
