Re: Hayu has landed!

Has anyone else got an issue with Hayu programminf that every 10 minutes or so throughout a show the screen momentarily (probably only a second or so) goes black and the sound cuts out?

Not noticed it with anything else on Sky, only Hayu shows.

Probably the triggers for ad-insertion not functioning correctly.

I did wonder that but if it is then they are putting in ads in the strangest places. As someone will be halfway through a word in a conversation and it'll black out and then when it comes back on they finish the word they were saying (if that makes sense).

For example "right lets get the ya"... (blackout)... "cht clean before the next charter guests come on"

They may well be using some automated AI system to do it.

Badly.

Or it could be that the timecodes they've been given to insert the ads are based on the shows running at their native 24fps, not the sped up 25fps versions Sky use, so they could out by a second or two.

@Ghughes

As has been discussed in many of the posts on this thread and previous (now locked) threads, a date in July was never specified. Unfortunately you have misinterpreted the text.

@Ghughes

The intention may well have been to launch earlier in the month, which then got delayed so it actually worked.

Your book's wrong. July has 31 days. What does it matter, anyway?

Hayu issues with Sky

Hayu is supposedly included with my Sky subscription.

Facing serveral issues:

1. Sky Go app doesn't display the latest aired episodes - do we now receive a different level of service? Ie access to recent episodes are uploaded 48+ hours (or longer?) post being aired?

2. Sky is still trying to charge me to watch a Hayu show on my TV despite it being included with Sky subscription?!?

@Scottpez1

Inclusive Hayu is via On Demand not via the Hayu app.

In answer to your first questions I beleave yes, Sky free on demand Hayu service is a different level of service to what you get on the app. For a start the free on demand has ads imbedded in it content, the service though Hayu app is ad free this clearly lower level of service than if pay for it though app. And though say that all content  on the demand service should be the same as what available though the app, however from many  comments on this forum this in many instances not the case. And Sky answer if you see any thing miss that availble on the app is to email them and they will correct it.

with respect to your second quiry if you previously subscribe though Hayu app and now just want watch Hayu in the on demand section you have manukyvcancel your app subscription, the fact on demand service now available dose automatically cancel you app subscription.

Had they said "From 1st July" - that would have meant 1st July. However the phrase "from July", does mean at some point within the month and not a specific date.

Re: Hayu has landed!

There is indeed an issue with new episodes being added to Hayu via Sky On Demand. Had the below from Viewer Relations:

Thank you for contacting Sky.

We are aware of issues affecting some Hayu content, including Below Deck
Mediterranean Season 11 Episode 10.  This has been passed to Hayu for
resolution.

Unfortunately, we do not currently have a timescale for when the episode
will be made available, but please be assured that the issue has been
raised with the content provider.

Thank you for bringing this to our attention.
