I might be wrong here but it could be that Sky unlocks these channels, so for example today when there is a match on the Tennis channel someone who subscribes to the football only might well get access to it.

Agree, but now that sky only sell complete sky sports with the only exception being f1 , it wouldn't surprise me if sky have stopped the practice of opening up the channels, but only a football only subscriber would be able to confirm for sure

I know is already a discussion on this subject somewhere on here but I can't find it. Again tomorrow  Sky putting football on mutipulie channels and on some non related ones like golf and tennis. This is now becoming a regular occurrence and not just a one off. I know Sky has more football at times than it can handle on just the football channels, however it beginning to make mockery of skys dedicated channel  system. The occasional use of other channels can be excused however it looks like with amount of football  Sky is showing this season it not and we can probleyvexpect this situation to happen regularly for the rest of the season, and if Sky has got the rights to show the same amount next season we could expect the same then. This is not good enough on the golf channel we expect to see golf on tennis channel tennis not to regular football.  If  needs to use other channels to show other sports regularly other than what decanted channel is labeled that should consider a banding the decanted channel system and revert back to just numbering them as they used to do then they can show any thing they like on them without this mockery.  TNT sports only have numbered channel which allows them to show any sport on any of them and works pretty well , so why can't Sky revert back to such a system.

Sky have confirmed that they no longer open up the other channels showing football for Football only subscribers. Tomorrow (Wednesday) there are 8 sports channels showing PL football.
