So we should cancel TNT subscriptions as it's now free?

hi @pabloenrique

I am not quite sure why you should think TNT is free which is not really changing other than eventually moving app from Discovery+ to the HBO Max app

I have one email from TNT telling me that TNT is moving to HBO Max and another from Sky telling me that HBO Max is being added at no extra cost

You'll still have to pay for TNT Sports. You'll just be accessing it within the HBO Max app.

hi @pabloenrique

As @Angel_Aka  says TNT is still additional cost - it is just the 'Base' HBO Max subscription that you will get from SKY for no extra cost.

I am guessing you won't be the only one to have this query

Re: Netflix, Disney+, HBO Max and Hayu into one single subscription, exclusively on Sky

I get that it looks like a smooth transition for Disney+ over to Sky, but as it's the basic package only, what happens to the package I already have with Disney+, the top-tier one? I will want to stay on that tier. Obviously, it costs more, so who do I pay for it? If it is Sky, then how? If it is Disney+, I read on here that payments to them will be paused ( I pay annually, next payment is September, I think ), so how would I pay them?

This basic package vs top-tier is a bit confusing.

It's works no differently to how it does now. On discovery + there is a more expensive tier for TNT Sports ( and Sky give the basic tier "for free").

TNT Sports is moving to HBO Max, which will have a special TNT sports tier ( and Sky are giving the basic tier "for free").

Disney should refund any pro-rated annual sub when you switch it for to Sky billing. You will be able to upgrade to the higher tiers via Sky ( and at a cheaper price, as the basic tier price gets removed from the monthly feee you would pay for the higher tiers).

hi @Mr+Ripley

The full mechanism is yet to be detailed but hopefully it will be seemless -the FAQ already states that profiles should migrate etc.

Although it is not specifically mentioned, existing Disney + subscriptions via SKY are SKY Marketplace

This uses a payment method separate to your main SKY subscription so it is worth logging into your SKY account and check if you have set up a pyament method for SKY Marketplace ahead of the move (I am sorry I don't have a link - I just know I had to set one up for my upgrade to Paramaount+ )

@nigea99  Thanks for the tip. I've had a look & I can see on my account under Billing & Payments that there is a section called Sky Marketplace, & I have history payments there for Lionsgate+. So I guess I'm already set up with it.

@MarkGoldsmith  Thanks for the quick reply. That clears it up. If it can all be done via Sky, that will be great.

I don't pretend to understand the whole business side of this deal, but I'd like to know, what's in it for Disney? All I can see is that we will be getting D+ at a cheaper rate. How is that good for them?

It's getting their content into more homes. [removed].

Honestly I don't know but I suspect there may be some financial aspect between SKY & Disney

Then there is a chance that SKY customers pay extra for the higher tiers

It's getting their content into more homes. They can then sell more advertising slots and increase the number of ads, leading to annoyed customers paying more to upgrade to an ad-free tier. Simple.

So Disney is taking a gamble that more people will either subscribe to D+ or, if already subscribers, choose the top-tier option if they don't already have it, against losing money from people like me who already have the top-tier option & pay annually, but migrate to Sky. Would that be right? If so, they must be quite sure it's a gamble worth taking.

Re: Sky to include Disney+ amd HBO Max from next month?

Thanks for all the responses folks. We will see how it all works  out. Be interesting to see how thw TNT sports works out as well as that appears to be included with HBO Max.

Cheers again.
