Sky to include Disney+ amd HBO Max from next month?

Hi, as a current subsciber to Disney+ (seperate charge each month to my monthly sky subscription) will this Disney charge now be cancelled as Disney will be included with Sky or will I have to cancel the direct debit?

I don't think details of the mechanics have been announced: there's no actual date yet apart from 'March'.

hi @DJP3

From the FAQ's in the announcement article:

Disney+/HBO article

Do I need to cancel my existing Disney+ subscription? Disney will pause your monthly subscription or refund your annual plan when you activate with Sky.

If you have an existing Disney+ subscription with another provider, you will need to cancel this directly with them when you activate with Sky.

If you have Disney+ through Sky we'll help you manage your subscription to get the £5.99 / up to €8.99 saving too.

As @TimmyBGood  says the exact mechanism as to how it will work is not detailed

I would asume Sky date will be the same it also the date if you have TNT sport subscription  that service will transfer from Discovery+ to HBO max.IMG_0281.png

Re: Netflix, Disney+, HBO Max and Hayu into one single subscription, exclusively on Sky

Skimmed all the way through these 7 pages and haven't yet concluded whether TNT Sports will continue to have its own dedicated Sky channel numbers (and hence accessible using my dish not my broadband, which I find never as smooth, very much postcode dependent). I tend to record everything on Sky Q and watch a bit delayed.

As for the wider package, it seems to me that going ad free, UHD and multiple devices will now cost a fortune as all the premiums for each streaming service would add up cumulatively on top of the basic monthly Sky Ultimate package. Some of these I get free (e.g. Disney + from my bank) which will also change my VFM.

Many of the newspaper reports applauding this arrangement don't factor in the fixed deals Sky have given in the past, they just compare to "off the shelf" prices.

@DaveDrizen  Whilst disney+ & HBO are in the same announcement I don't think we can assume that  the changes will happen at the same date & it is quite possible that the mechanisms for existing customers to migrate accross may not be there for day one

@DaveDrizen  I wouldn't assume anything the deals Sky has with Disney and HBO max are separate from each other only hbo and the move of tnt sports is confirmed for the 26th March

as far as Disney is concerned the date is very much unknown it could launch early, the same day or later than HBO

@SecretSanta  I don't beleive there is any change to the current Live TV line up for TNT on Sky+HD, Sky Q  or Glass/Stream just  the way the are accessed on the relevant apps.

Like you I'm a customer here, Sky Employees are clearly identified as such.

The creation of each of the streaming services by their owners has led to this & it does mean that to get everything in UHD (often also needed for Dolby Atmos)  will indeed cost a lot.

This latest deal with Disney + definitely helps SKY customers by reducing the cost by the 'Base with Ads sub' price - even for those of us, like myself, who have the premium sub annually direct with Disney+.

Of course this may not be better for anyone with deals from elsewhere but is good news for others.

So we should cancel TNT subscriptions as it's now free?
