The few christmas movies that are currently available on sky are only available in SD (standard definition).
Why are they not HD or UHD please?

Posted by a Superuser, not a Sky employee. Find out moreThat would seem strange. For sky cinema, I think all films are available in HD.
There is the christmas24 movie channel which is not part of sky cinema, these I think are sd as they are lower budget productions.
What are some of the movies, for example?
How are you viewing films? Ie on the channel/linear or from on demand.

These are the typical films that sky always have available such as elf which last year was definitely available in UHD
I select them through sky cinema
All the latest films such as dune are still available to me in all formats so it's not a setting

I am having the same issue today. Other films o can get in UHD, so not sure why they are only available in standard definition

Posted by a Superuser, not a Sky employee. Find out moreSo checking on my sky q, while on t he sky cinema tab it is only sd for the Christmas movies selections, there is no option for 'other formats'.
You could email viewer relations at viewerR@sky.uk
Mention the sky system you have (q, glass, stream, hd+)
I know with voice search on sky q, if I say "Christmas movies", it brings up a n array of films from the various choices.
There does seem more on it with the sky cinema logo than on the Christmas tab on sky cinema.

That is a great solution, thank you
Voice recognition pulls them all up in all formats including UHD
Odd little glitch on sky Q though

I tried the blue button and said Christmas movies and it works, thank you

Posted by a Sky employeeHi all,
Thanks for posting and if you're new here welcome to the Sky Community forum, where customers like you are on hand 24/7 (almost) to offer some fantastic advice and help on all things Sky-related.
I've just checked my Sky Q box and can see there are films in HD: Elf and Arthur Christmas but some others like Love Actually and The Holiday are in SD. Let me see if I can find an answer internally on why this would be?
