Re: Changes to the TV Guide - February 2026
Sky will have to do is EPG negotiate a new Disney + Cinema slot, it must be something else other than an opinion based on Entertainment genre. The 164 was Channel Islands formerly known as Disney Channels Worldwide, I see where 130 are based Challenge near Nat Geo. That is a successful use of FOX/E!/ Universal +1 got closed recently. No Sky Comedy +1 from 213.
113 Sky Comedy HD
114 SkyDocmntrsHD
121 Sky Crime HD
122 Sky Arts HD
124 Sky Nature HD
145 Sky Sci-Fi HD
152
164

I have to admit, I don't quite share the excitement around this announcement. From what I can see, this appears to be largely a rebrand of Sky Max rather than a genuine revival of Sky One.
For me, Sky One effectively came to an end when it closed in 2021. After 36 years on air as Sky's flagship channel, and arguably the foundation on which the company built its identity and commercial success, its closure felt significant. It wasn't just another channel being retired; it marked the end of an era.
Sky One was the original Sky channel and played a central role in establishing the brand. In my view, closing it was a major strategic mistake. Since then, it has felt as though some of the personality and distinctiveness associated with Sky's earlier years has diminished.
While bringing back the Sky One name may carry nostalgia, I'm not convinced it will restore what the channel once represented. If this is simply Sky Max under a different name, then the original Sky One, in spirit and substance, remains a part of the past.

Re: Changes to the TV Guide - February 2026
@Marlu-Nyu It could have been a genuine revival of Sky One in the first place, despite the announcement earlier this month.
But while unrelated to Sky One, would have been possible for Sky Cinema to show Star Wars films back again next year for the first time since 2020. To achieve this, Sky should look into the old Star Wars-themed Sky Movies ident from 2006 (see links below) and more likely to be reanimated with a large difference. For example, putting the Star Wars 50th anniversary logo on the centre and the Sky Cinema logo [with channel names, pop-up channels may included where possible] on the bottom centre of the screen after the lightsaber dual against the black background (keeping the red, blue, and green colours in it).

It would be very likely that the new Disney+ Cinema channel will have the Star Wars movies on it.
Also, side note: YouTube is not a reliable source.

@Maniatore2006 Wow, that's interesting. Let's hope the test is successful before Disney+ Cinema could be launched sooner rather than later.

@Marlu-Nyu I wish YouTube becomes a reliable source on every part of each website. Possibly in the future they might consider this to be reliable source.

Re: Changes to the TV Guide - February 2026
@Marlu-Nyu Neitherless, a new Disney+ Cinema channel would borrow the Star Wars-themed Sky Movies ident from 2006 or else be reanimated to accommodate it. I reckon, after the channel's launch, the Disney films would gradually spread onto Sky Cinema for the first time since 2020.
