No error messages - nothing happens when I press the sky w home button

So is the green light on on your sky box?

If so, maybe press the standby button on the remote, then the sky button

Are you on sky q, sky+ or sky glass?

Depending on what it is, maybe check that your hdmi or scart cables are all properly connected and not loose.

Is the Sky box showing a green & orange light ok when you switch it on and off? Sounds like it might have locked up.

No one has mentioned this yet, but have you tried changing the batteries in the remote?
