Can I tell Sky which TV shows I liked, and why?

On the BBC I can give feedback on the shows I liked or disliked and why. That way I contribute to the BBC knowing what the view public liked or disliked, more importantly why. Is there any way of doing that on Sky to feedback to programme makers to give the public, if the majority participate, what would be enjoyable and popular.

@TellyCeli

Worth remembering that unlike terrestrial broadcast television the vast majority of Sky devices know exactly what's been watched and for how long, and report this information (in sem-anonymised form) back to Sky, so there's already very fine grain information from audiences reaching them.

Re: Can I tell Sky which TV shows I liked, and why?

Thank you.I kind of knew that but also wondered why the tv offering wasn't very exciting to watch anymore. They forget that within programmes people, at least in the Uk, want witty dialogue. I cannot understand why in Game of Thrones they hired witty writers and humorous actors that can deliver those lines.  However, House of Dragon there is nothing.

I worry that the producers, being me, think I'm not watching because there isn't enough sex! So they misunderstand their results.

I agree with @TellyCeli.. Just because I watch a program doesn't mean I liked it.  You sometimes continue watching hoping it will improve, or it might have a rubbish ending.

Viewing metrics is typically what broadcasters and production companies now use to figure out if its worth recommissioning a show for another year.

They will collect all kinds of metrics, including viewing hours of a show (can track if complete episodes are being watched or only partly), the number of people who start a season but don't finish it and the number of viewers who watch the entire season.

New shows/pilots will typically be tested via panels and focus groups to get feedback on whether to commission a full season or make changes to a show.

Thank you for agreeing @Stephen+Mourton Exactly, you can also tell them the elements that kept you hanging on. I love Sci-fi but need to see new ideas inventive ideas. He Fallout too violent, The Ark too dated, keypads for sections that you can't get into!!

@MarkGoldsmith Thank you for your reply. Sadly I don't think they care about me.
I kind of knew your info  but at 60, I want something witty and ground breaking. I just flick and feel disappointed especially as a Brit. I want to see other parts of our country, people and history. I love Sci-fi, does it have to be so bleak. Repeating what was successful before doesn't always cut the mustard.

Largely, I suspect, because utopian visions just aren't very dramatic...

Science fiction has been dominated by the distopian since the end of the Golden Age, because sustaining a rosy view of the future became increasingly improbable.

@TimmyBGood Let's not forget Barbarella. I thought it was utopia as a teenager, I wanted that machine so badly.  🤭

True, but strictly speaking that's based on early 60s source material, and was rather dated (deliberately so) by 1968.

My preference for sci-fi of approximately that era is Logan's Run and Dark Star ; )

  @TellyCeli I'm currently rewatching Mork & Mindy via YouTube, all 4 seasons are available. 3rd Rock from the Sun is available on Sky, I did a search & 6 seasons are available but I see that some episodes are missing including the first two from S1. It's on Ch4 in the mornings during the week from 6.30 am but they're on S3 right now.
