Do you mean the service that is completely voluntary for a service provider to sign up to ( which Sky just happen to have signed up to)?

https://www.ofcom.org.uk/phones-and-broadband/service-quality/automatic-compensation-need-know

I don't see anything listed in there for a loss of landline phone number as part of a transfer it just covers a complete loss of service. So under the circumstance where a service transfer has gone wrong and you are completely with a broadband or landline service or where the provisioning of the service has been delayed yes the automatic compensation scheme does kick in.

If you haven't already you may wish to read this page https://www.sky.com/help/articles/auto-compensation which details how Sky implement the auto compensation.

@Mr112345

And…
If you have a total loss of service and it isn’t fixed after two full WORKING days from when Sky are notified of the fault you will become eligible for it.

You haven't had a a total loss of service as you have a new number which is presumably working.

In addition, from 01/04/25 the new rates are £9.98 per day.

Yours is not a loss of service. I've never seen any previous post reporting success in claiming compensation for Sky's failure/inability to port a number, but perhaps you do, indeed, know more than we do about it...

Re: lost old landline number without my knowledge

It's still a loss of service. If your business number has changed and your customers can't reach is it not a loss of service? Anyway i had enough of your lots negativity. No I'm not coming back when I made a successful claim against them.

@Mr112345

No, you have a working service. Sky Broadband and Sky Talk discussed on the forums are domestic services and business use requires a business subscription.

Sky's domestic phone service specifically excludes business use, so that's not relevant here.

Re: lost old landline number without my knowledge

Sounds like you do not know what a loss of service is. Ask Google if telecom loses your number but provides a new ones is it a loss of service. You guys talking nonsense.

Re: lost old landline number without my knowledge

Answer the question instead of worrying about if it's relevant or not.

Defined by Sky as follows, "‘Total loss of service’ for more than two full working days after you’ve let us know. That’s if your Sky Broadband and/or Sky Talk stops working completely

@Mr112345

Its 100% relevant if you're using a domestic subscription for business use contrary to the T's and C's which you agreed to.

@Mr112345  It would help if you tagged the person you're replying to.

And it IS relevant, did you sign up to Sky Business Broadband or Sky Domestic Broadband?  If the latter then you've chosen the wrong service as you can't use a domestic service for business use, and therefore any losses you're trying to claim  for in relation to a business loss won't be entertained.

Perhaps a read of the T&C's you've agreed to would help.

Like you I'm a customer here, Sky Employees are clearly identified as such.

Re: lost old landline number without my knowledge

It doesn't matter what I'm using it for, if it's a loss of service due to change of number, than same would apply for domestic. And I have just googled it and I am right. You do not know what loss of service is!

I don't know how to tag, I use the reply button. Not sure what the use of that is if it doesn't reply directly.

@Mr112345

You obviously believe you are correct so good luck getting any compensation for a service you are using in breach of the terms.
